UV Safety Month is celebrated every July. Anyone can get skin cancer, no matter how dark or light their skin is. Learning about skin cancer, what it is and what causes it, can help you lower your risk of ever having it. The American Cancer Society’s Extramural Discovery Science team is currently funding over $34.3M in skin cancer research. There are 5 million+ skin cancer diagnoses each year in the US, and most can be treated effectively if found early, so knowing what to look for is important. Early breast cancer detection saves lives, yet 98.5% of women and men don’t know how to perform a self-exam.   In October 2021, Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) and Havas Middle East teamed up to raise awareness about the importance of self-examinations, creating the #YMCASelfCheck social media campaign. Out of all cancers breast cancer is most commonly seen cancer in women. As a family we forget to ask woman of the house that, “ Are you ok ??” So you need anything?? And she will also not tell if going through health issues. Let’s start to ask and “Keep her in The Picture”, so that she can spread smile and warmth.
