1,192, that number is hard to comprehend. We know the many physical and mental health challenges these kids will face. Peer support programs like Good Grief’s are proven to be one of the most effective interventions for these long-term, negative effects. Please consider supporting Good Grief as part of your end-of-year giving so that we can meet this incredible need and ensure that no child is navigating grief alone. Go to https://lnkd.in/dPqnVBq4 to donate and become a vital part of our mission. #EndOfYearGiving #GriefSupport #ChildGrief #Donate Source: Judi’s House, https://lnkd.in/gd7F_FKm

Day 2 of the pushup challenge to raise money for Headspace. Today we did 110, and tomorrow we do 123. It is important to understand that mental health affects everybody. Did you know that LGBTQIA+ people are some of the most affected by this in our society? So let's donate towards this cause today to make everyones else's day better tomorrow. If you're struggling with metal health, it does not hurt to talk about it. Headspace is always there to listen, and sometimes that is all we need. Headspace: 1800 650 890 https://lnkd.in/gfzMRmfg

The cost of living crisis is a mental health issue, with those struggling to make ends meet financially facing additional strain over Christmas. If we raised our £50,000 Big Give Christmas Challenge fundraising target we would be able to give urgent mental health support to 5,000 more people who are feeling overwhelmed, stressed or suicidal this winter. If you are able to help, donations made by 5 December will be doubled: https://bit.ly/49T3mwX

Did you wake up today and feel like life is just not worth living? Well, I hope not. But just for a moment as you read that question, you might have glimpsed an insight into the dark world that many people suffering from mental health disorders can face on a daily basis. And unlike the physical health ups and downs that we all experience as a normal part of life, untreated mental health issues can spread like its inky blackness to all corners of a person's life for many years. There are many noble causes to champion, but it is the invisible and life long suffering that I have seen in good people with mental health issues that really concerns me, and especially young people in the complex world we have created for them to live in. I'd like to ask you to help me do something about it. This year is my fourth year leading a team of Port Melbourne legends in the Push Up Challenge. It's a simple thing (sort of). We each do one push up for every life lost to suicide last year over 24 days, and ask you to donate to the cause. Unfortunately that means each of us needs to do 3,249 push-ups, but we will get there! To donate go to my challenge page: https://lnkd.in/gpNeD8DP And of course, you will get a receipt to claim as your donation is tax deductible. My donations are going to Headspace. Even if you don't donate, thanks for reading this far and spending a moment focusing on mental health. Perhaps you know someone to ask RUOK.

Hey, brainiacs! I'm taking part in the push up challenge for Mental Health. Here are some funny reasons why you should donate to this awesome cause: 1) Because life is hard and people need help to cope 2) Brains are squishy and mushy, but science shows you can reshape them no matter how old you get. 3) Working out keeps me sane, so I won't freak out at you 4) It's the biggest fundraising event for mental health in Australia 5) Stick one to the man and get some money back for doing good! The Push for Better Foundation is a legit charity in Australia and you can claim your donation on your taxes. (ABN 49645093349) 6) I also put my money where my mouth is, so you know it's good stuff.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge goes live in one week. From 12pm on 28 November until 12pm on 5 December, every penny you give through the Big Give website will be doubled. This means one donation will make twice the impact. During the Big Give Christmas Challenge, we will be raising money for a free fast-track counselling service for people who have experienced the heartbreak of domestic abuse. This service aims to support healthy recovery and prevent deterioration into a mental health crisis or emergency. "It's been amazing... the counselling really helped, great knowing someone understood me as no one had understood me before, I had no one to talk to." (A counselling client). Please consider supporting and helping us to help those who need our support. 💙 Our website contains more information and details on how you can donate to this vital cause: 🎁 https://lnkd.in/ePU2njDW Thank you. #BigGiveChristmasChallenge #BigGive #TeamWestKentMind #TeamWKM #WestKent #WestKentMind #MentalHealth #LocalCharity #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthRecovery #Tonbridge #Malling #Sevenoaks #Edenbridge #TunbridgeWells #Counselling #Fundraising #SupportUs #DomesticAbuse #DomesticAbuseSupport #DomesticAbuseCounselling #FreeCounselling

K, forgot to post on here last night (was a bit busy) and before the clock strikes 12 here wanted to make sure you remember that you're human. We all make mistakes. It's how we learn. We can't succeed without first learning what failure is. We appreciate things more when we learn what we may have lost. This is why usually when you get older, material items don't hold as much significance as time with others and memories made. All things that sometimes a person struggling with mental health can't comprehend because their view point is skewed. So I just want to say, take it easy on yourself. If just for today. There's still time to sign for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - National Capital Area Chapter #OutoftheDarkness walk being held Sat 10/21. Raise $150 and you get a shirt. Donate to an individual, a team, the cause in general. Walk and don't raise money at all, but enjoy the laughs as we continue to remember and think of those that struggle with these thoughts. (here's what you can get if you're competitive like me 😉 https://lnkd.in/e5ryCkKj ) American Foundation for Suicide Prevention #StopsuicideNCAC #breakthestigma #suicideawareness #afsp
