Strict enforcement and recent exit of China’s one-child policy (OCP) resulted in China’s demographical changes, and, alongside its epidemiological transition, disproportionately impacted caregiving needs and demands on women. This study examines women’s caregiving responsibilities in contemporary China and evaluates how the OCP affected them. We have a new article in BMJ Global Health: Caregiving for China’s one-child generation: a simulation study of caregiving responsibility and impact on women’s time use. https://lnkd.in/gr2hGhMF With Xiaoxiao Kwete, Beverley Essue, Michael Touchton, Héctor Arreola Ornelas, Ana Langer, Renzo José Carlos Calderón Anyosa, Renu Sara Nargund.

The Chemonics International implemented USAID-funded Advancing Universal Health Coverage Activity (AUHC) and supported the Surjer Hashi Network (A health care social enterprise) (SHN) in providing high-quality antenatal care and service delivery in #Bangladesh through the launch of the Maternal and Newborn Health Quality Improvement (MNHQI) initiative. The MNHQI consists of these four steps: – 1. Identifying gaps and improvement opportunities from a rapid assessment of performance and developing improvement objectives accordingly. 2) Developing a monitoring system through indicators of performance linked to each improvement objective. 3) Generating change ideas as potential solutions to address quality performance issues. 4) Testing the effects of the changes through a “Plan-Do-Check-Act” (PDCA) cycle of learning and improvement. Learn about the impact of this initiative here: https://ow.ly/jTmV50Qpyo9

Co-Founder of Health Hunter | Account Director at Affinity Marketing | Healthcare Marketing Specialist | Interested in Preventative Health
What is the saying?... If you don't have time for your health, you will have to make time for illness. 🏥 Brianna and I along with our foundational partners, are thrilled to announce the launch of Health Hunter, a female-founded health tech platform that connects people with preventative health providers and services. 👩🏼⚕️👨🏽⚕️ Our vision is to reduce the impact of chronic disease on the population by making preventative healthcare models more easily accessible. Why is this needed? We are all touched by chronic disease at some point in our lives. Whether it's yourself, your partner, your mother... the effect is often heartbreaking. 💔 1 in 2 people in Australia have a chronic health condition, but it is estimated that 1/3 of these could be prevented if addressed earlier. In fact, this amounts to 680,000 hospitalisations prevented and would put a dent in the $38B in government health spending. 📉 After working in health and medical marketing for over 15 years, we have seen the missed opportunities in healthcare for early intervention in tackling Australia’s biggest health challenges. ⏳ Here's what Health Hunter does... 🩺 Improves access: Our platform lists practitioners who are hard to find. These are GPs with specialised training in lifestyle, integrative, or functional medicine as well as allied health practitioners and health coaches. 🔍 Condition matching: You can search by your particular health concern (eg. menopause specialist, weight management, gut issues etc) in your location and be matched with health practitioners with special interests in these areas. 📙 Increases education and awareness: The platform provides an array of educational resources, health services, apps and digital communities that empower individuals to make informed decisions as they take control of their health. How can you help? - Visit our website https://lnkd.in/gQ4YiMsr to learn more, explore and share our platform - Like, share or follow along with us and our journey at Health Hunter - If you want to get involved or can help us in any way, we'd love to hear from you! You might know a health practitioner, investor, potential team member, partner or collaborator. We'll be part of the Digital Health Festival drive program in May in Melbourne - and would love to see you there! 💫 #HealthHunter #PreventativeHealth #WomensHealth #HealthTech #EmpoweringWellness https://lnkd.in/gQ4YiMsr

May is a time to celebrate the immense contributions of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities to the American mosaic. It's also a crucial time to address the specific health disparities that disproportionately affect these groups. Despite being the fastest-growing racial group, AANHPIs often receive less medical attention due to cultural, linguistic, and economic barriers. Join us in raising awareness about these health disparities. Support AANHPI healthcare initiatives, participate in community health events, and encourage loved ones to prioritize their health. Together, we can create a healthier future for all AANHPI communities! We encourage you to: 🌟 Share this post! 🌟 Comment with your experiences and advice. 🌟 Tag healthcare professionals who are making a difference in the AANHPI communities. #AAPIHealth, #AAPIHeritageMonth, #HealthEquity #CulturalCompetence

14% or approx 1.83 million Australian women live with endometriosis, a painful and at times debilitating condition. While low literacy is experienced by 44% of the Australian population, low health literacy is experienced by 60% of men and 59% of women. This means of approx. 1.83m women living with endometriosis in Australia, it is probable that approx. 1.07m will find this standard handout about the condition too hard. Provided by ‘The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists’ to medical professionals to give to patients to help them understand their condition - they are missing the majority of their intended audience. #RANZCOG #Literacy #HealthLiteracy #EasyEnglish #Endometriosis #HealthInformation #AccessibleInformation
