Is there anything better than a day exploring the stalls of a massive flea market? I’ve lost track of how many great finds I’ve picked up in one of these bargain institutions, be it a favorite book, a unique piece of house decor, or that one missing piece of a childhood collection. The best flea markets even have great places to eat on-site so you don’t have to leave when you get hungry – and the best flea markets definitely include the Collingwood Flea Market. This old-school indoor-outdoor flea market runs year-round on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – and it’s massive! During the peak, there can be as many as a hundred vendors inside, and as many as 500 informal vendors outside selling their wares! Bargain-hunters unite – every weekend is an event at this only-in-New Jersey flea market! Located in what looks like a rural barn, the Collingwood Flea Market is a south Jersey institution. With over a hundred vendors inside the main building alone, it's the perfect place to search for that hidden gem. Speaking of gems - if you're looking for jewelry or fashion, you can get many items here for a fraction of the store price. Most of the stalls are privately run, which means people are often selling off their personal collections. Military surplus stores, comic book stores, and quirky collectibles are all found here. You can even do some grocery shopping - there are multiple food stalls here featuring all-American and international foods. Outside, the scene gets even more chaotic as hundreds of vendors are on hand to sell whatever they want to find a buyer for, weather permitting. You can make a day of it, with several snack-counters and even a classic New Jersey diner available as dining options! #collingwood #fleamarket #bargain

New product: Barclay Rex Magnum Smooth Bent Apple Estate Briar Pipe, American Estates Barclay-Rex is a historic American tobacconist in New York. Founded in 1910 by Italian immigrant Vincent Nastri, the tobacconist has remained in Nastri’s family since its inception, still remaining so today. While today Barclay-Rex is known for its cigars and cigar lounge, there was a time in the 20th century when the store was also famous for its pipes, some of which were carved by the Nastri family, and others which were likely sourced from established makes. I’ll admit that I’m no expert on Barclay-Rex pipes, so I don’t know if they had a specific name for this one. But, if they didn’t market it as a “Big Apple,” I’d say they would have really missed an opportunity! After all, this is a big apple pipe, and where better to have sold it than New York? Jokes aside, it’s an impressive pipe. Apples are not the go-to shape for magnum-sized pipes, being traditionally associated with smaller, delicate, gentleman’s smokers. So, this one is quite unique. Beautiful too. The condition is excellent, too. You’d think with a pipe like this one, there’d be more wear, especially on the stem. But it’s been preserved remarkably, with only a touch of inner rim darkening to show for its past life. Details: Length: 7″ / 177.8mm Bowl Width: 0.95 / 24.13mm Bowl Depth: 1.85″ / 46.99mm Weight: 1.6oz / 100g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/9hYH84 #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd

Buyer Thoughts: I always felt like Easter is the psychological opening of the Summer season. Even when the weather is cold in the north the customers are now ready to contemplate buying their seasons needs. Now, the southern beach stores have probably been set since shortly after the New Year so you should have a read on what will sell well or not. Give the customers a full presentation and timely features! Get ready to front load the stores and be prepared for that first great weekend! Memorial Day will happen before you know it…It’s Christmas for Summer Seasonal merchandise! Check your national forecast and be prepared to move quickly! #HappySelling #BuyingisaGreatJob #BeNimble #BeStrategic

Helping property owners move on to the next phase of their lives by maximising the potential in their properties when selling to achieve the best price and sell quickly
Saturday Staging Tip… This week’s tip is a another tip related to Christmas viewings. I think it’s a nice idea if you are able to, to provide tea and coffee making facilities for your viewers and your agent when viewings are being conducted. I know this isn’t always practical, but if your property is a larger property where the viewing is likely to last longer and where there may be time for the viewers and the agent to sit down at the end of the viewing and have a little chat then I think this is a nice idea. So that’s this week’s tip - provide tea and coffee making facilities. If you are thinking of selling, or are struggling to sell, then give me a call on (07745) 876182 for a friendly chat. #homestaging #property

🎃Happy Halloween🎃 This month's top and/or interesting distressed R&C stories are: 👎 Not specific to the retail and consumer sector, but company insolvencies in England and Wales are at the highest levels since 2009. Inflation and high interest rates remain big challenges, and have left businesses struggling to secure financing. 🛍 Do check out PwC's very good report (at https://pwc.to/2V1GRAr) on store openings and closures in H1 2023. There's lots of interesting stuff, but one particular standout for me was: "High streets and shopping centres as an asset class are still in decline, with the growth sectors (leisure and discount supermarkets) all seemingly out of town, whether standalone or in retail parks". 🍕 Casual dining stalwart Pizza Express is mulling making an offer for casual dining stalwart Wagamma. On this subject, I commend this very good piece (at https://lnkd.in/eSdDycCe) by the excellent Grace Dent. As she correctly says: "Everybody needs one restaurant in their repertoire where they accept the menu from the server just to be polite. We already know that list, that font, that drinks selection. A trip to Pizza Express or Nando’s will never rock your world, but the fact that you can visualise exactly how your butterfly chicken with macho peas will look before you’ve even walked through the door will bring a moment of dependable zen to a helter-skelter day". 🐓 D&D London, purveyors of fine foods at, among others, Angler, Bluebird Chelsea, and Coq D'Argent, has been acquired by Calverton and Breal Capital. Calverton is the owner of Byron Burgers which, going back to Grace, is my casual dining "safe space". Well done to friends at Interpath Advisory for their very good work on that. 👚 Frasers has flipped the IP and trademarks of teen fast-fashion business Missguided to Shein. Frasers bought the assets out of administration for circa £20m in 2022. 🏄♀️ In further brand aggregation news, Next has bought Fat Face. Once upon a time I went to a meeting at Fat Face's offices, where we sat around a big surfboard as a meeting table. Rad. 🚲 Wiggle, which owns the Chain Reaction Cycles and the Vitus and Nukeproof cycling brands, employing circa 450 people, entered administration on 24 October 2023. My colleagues in the team, led by Will Gunston, advised the group, and now advise the joint administrators of FRP Advisory. As ever, please get in touch if our restructuring and insolvency team, or any of our other excellent colleagues, can assist with any R&C issues or matters. We're very proud to have recently retained our Band One ranking for Retail and Consumer work in the Legal 500 2024 edition (https://lnkd.in/eiqkXQT7).
