Well-being has a quite clear meaning and as the word itself implies, it refers to the psychological and physical (psychosomatic) well-being of the person. Pretty straightforward.
Let's now discuss another word or better term: PCS (Post-COVID-19 Syndrome). This refers to the long-term mental and psychosomatic illnesses caused by the now obsolete (or not) Covid pandemic. Rise of anxiety, isolation, long-term inability to reintegrate after quarantines are directly linked to the level of self-compassion and psychological flexibility as well as to the degree of social connectedness.
Next time you hear someone saying «doctor said I have Long Covid” remember that, many times, biological symptoms are extremely connected to psychiatric ones, and that a long lasting fatigue could be caused, or coexisting, for instance, with psychological inflexibility symptoms.
And if this sounds bizarre, science has proven (and does so every day) that as we move up the scale of how social and connected we are, how self-compassionate we are and how psychologically flexible we are, we increase psychosomatic well-being - sometimes drastically.
We become better prepared to deal with any "turbulence" with coherence and without excessive emotions when we are part of groups, when we feel we belong and are valued. That is why we have every reason to promote participation, creativity and interaction. And if that's not good enough, just go with what science says. They may use lots of obscure indicators, but they know anyway.
