VERIDIS secures funding from NETZSCH Group and DOEN Participaties B.V.! Here’s what we’ll do next! It feels good to finally announce this because, in the first week of January 2024, our funding round was completed! Find the all the details on our website: https://lnkd.in/dTvYDcXA Jeroen Glansdorp, CEO Veridis: “We are incredibly excited to have NETZSCH and DOEN Participaties on board to help us take our company and our technology MADSCAN into the next phase. Together, we are building the solution to accelerate plastic recycling!” In 2023, we focused on launching our second system and testing with many players across the industry to build our database(s) and acquire data to further improve the MADSCAN technology. Building on this, this funding will be used for: 1) Building the MADSCAN T-50 🏗 Our third system will be capable of analysing more polymer types, measuring more phase transitions AND nitrogen flushing to increase system accuracy further! 2) Running pilots on-site. 🤝 We are ready to bring MADSCAN to customer facilities and now actively looking for partners to do this with. Recycling facilities focusing on high-quality recycling, using pinpoint accurate material data, if this sounds interesting to you, please reach out to mjwolters@veridis.tech or mkuil@veridis.tech for more information on being the first to have access to MADSCAN at your plant! 3) Expanding our team. 📈 Speed is what we need, especially when considering the upcoming recycled content regulations for packaging. We aim to bring our solution to the market before these regulations come into effect and with more brilliant people on board, we can make that happen! Want to know more or stay updated? Renewcell rescued from bankruptcy and given a second chance in a new chapter, now renamed Circulose! 🌟 Swedish private equity firm Altor Equity Partners has acquired the remaining assets of bankrupt textile-to-textile recycler Renewcell. Altor sees Circulose’s unique patented process, producing pulp from 100% textile waste, as the critical “first puzzle piece” to creating low-carbon fibers replacing virgin cotton and manmade cellulosic (MMCF) fibers. Nicole Rycroft, Executive Director of the Canopy environmental not-for-profit, who has been one of Renewcell's biggest supporters, shared she was confident that the “phoenix would rise from the ashes.” According to Nicole, the fashion value chain is now better primed to ensure these innovations have an easier path to market and scale. Clara Zverina, Principal at Altor, said: “We don’t shy away from a challenge and this one is worth taking, both for the uniqueness of the patented technology and the urgency of scaling circular solutions for the entire textile and fashion industry, particularly to replace virgin cotton and MMCF. We are determined to partner with key stakeholders across the value chain to together unlock the potential of Circulose.” #Materialinnovation #Nextgenmaterials #Innovation #Sustainability #Textiles #Acquisition

We are proud to introduce our new format, showcasing the minds behind our mission to build an #economy that reconnects with nature. 💚 We have created five squads, starting with #Packaging and #Construction Tech: This squad's investments focus is on bio-based materials applied to packaging 📦 and the construction industry 🏢. In packaging, recyclability at scale♻️ is our key investment criteria key, as well as biodegradability in specific situations. In construction, reduced carbon footprint and eliminating harmful chemicals 👾 drive our investment decisions. Furthermore, technologies enabling wider use of bio-based materials, including facilitating end-of-life management, will attract our attention 💻. In the near future, we expect our next investments to be in start-ups working on fiber-based materials, barrier properties, and high-value additives. The team is supported by Michael Brandkamp, Guillaume Gras, Julia Seeliger, Tommaso De Santis, and our new team member Johan Morales 🚀🌍 who joined the team in August! 🤩 We are constantly expanding our portfolio, so stay tuned for new companies changing our world for the better. 🌱 #sustainable #circularbioeconomy #venturecapital #bioplastics

Biotech and Medtech Scientist | R&D and Innovation Specialist | Advocate for Circular Economy and ESG | On the quest to protect people and the planet
I had a beautiful vision this morning (attached) and I felt compelled to share with everyone. In my vision, I saw a greener and healthier planet. I also saw people, organisations, corporations, and countries together more closely to accomplish this common goal. This goal is important to all of us, regardless of our geopolitical position, religious beliefs, economic systems, technological advancement and natural resources. Every individual and every product we create holds more significance than ever in our mission to safeguard people and the planet. My contribution, along with the fantastic team I work with at Liquim Limited, is the RevoGlov Microfilm Glove 🌍🛡️. This innovative, fully biodegradable glove made from plant-based materials is not only a protective gear but also a bold statement in our fight for a sustainable planet. Here's how it sets new benchmarks: 1. **Super-thin Microfilm Barrier:** The barrier protects human skin from contacting various solids and liquids in different working environments. 2. **Carbon Footprint Cutter:** The synthesis of ingredients for a single RevoGlov generates 41 times less CO2 emissions than a standard synthetic glove. Using these gloves is a step forward in reducing CO2 emissions and, hence, helps us combat climate change more effectively. 3. **Landfill Liberator:** RevoGlov doesn't end up in landfills but instead gets washed away, drastically decreasing waste and bringing us closer to our zero-waste ambitions. RevoGlov is more than just protection. It's our promise for a better world. This quest is not an easy one, but I believe it is the one that is achievable. #revoglov #Microfilm #innovation #liquim #bio2024 #automotive #electronics #painting #manufacturing #aerospace #aviation ##circulareconomy #InnovationForSustainability #EcoFriendlyLiving #ChangeMakers

Transforming beer into leather? Really? 👀 Arda Biomaterials is on a mission to convert waste barley grains from the beer brewing industry into animal-free, plastic-free leather for use in the fashion, home goods, and automotive industries. The UK-based company's material, New Grain™, utilizes the chemical composition of waste barley grain to create a substance with leather-like properties. Brewers' spent grain is easily accessible and typically sold at a low price as animal feed. Arda Biomaterials is taking a different approach by converting this grain into a sustainable alternative to leather. 💬 "The chemical composition in waste grain is uniquely suited to be transformed into a material that can resemble many of the properties of leather and more” said CTO TJ Edward Mitchell. The #cleantech startup recently secured a substantial €1.3 million investment led by the Clean Growth Fund. Let's wish them the best of luck! 🍻 👋 Brett Cotten ∙ Vivian Christogianni
