Yesterday/Sunday in Chicago. Out of control. Mayor please wake up and see what’s happening. It’s everywhere and no one wants to continue on like this. Accountability and hope are what works. Denying something as “mob actions” are not worth worrying about. Right now descriptive words are the farthest thing you need to be concerned with. Your statement a week or two ago when 100s of kids were rampaging the city, saying it wasn’t mob actions, but kids gathering…..again. The definition of mob action under Illinois law, is exactly what was/is happening. Here it is from the source. “Definition Of Mob Action--Unlawful Assembly A person commits the offense of mob action when he [1] acting together with one or more persons and without authority of law [ (knowingly) (intentionally) (recklessly) ] disturbs the public peace by the use of force or violence.” Mayor if you’re so worried about describing people through their actions that they are willfully committing you’re not focused on resolving the problem of making them accountable. There is no hope offered either to others. Therefore they have no good and only bad choices making it difficult to avoid taking part in this type of action. As my Grandma would say , “an idol mind is the devils playground”. Unfortunately, you are discussing the use of terms that are applicable. All by Illinois state law and denying them. A mayor’s job is to protect and run the city efficiently and calling things the way they are. Without this type of clarity, nothing gets done. As we can see everything spirals out of control.

We all have a role to play when it comes to preventing the next act of targeted violence. Please take a few minutes to listen to the recording below. Leakage is an early indicator of the possible intention to carry out acts of violence. Recognize the warning signs. Do not disregard them. It is normal for us to try to rationalize or minimize comments, posts, writings, etc. as someone just venting, but there may be more to it. Report concerns to local law enforcement or a threat assessment team where available.
Stop scrolling for 4 minutes and listen to a stellar explanation of leakage -- what it is, how to recognize it, and why it can help prevent acts of targeted violence -- by Mary Ellen O'Toole on NPR's All Things Considered https://lnkd.in/gbChkcH4

Brutalized for not having a license plate! The level of good versus evil within the world/atmosphere is at an all time high. There are a few (of many) top priority causes that need all of our quick consistent attention and action - which are major within America a.k.a. the United States of America - : racism, police brutality, and homelessness. Humanitarianism appears non-existent because more negativity is reigning supreme in so many individuals than positivity. I’m certain many of you will agree to this fact. Our homeless brothers and sisters deserve our care & respect. We all have stories which make up our lives & circumstances. The victim served our country to protect our comforts. No one has the right to cause any form of harm to another based upon socioeconomic stereotypical assumptions and poor judgment based merely upon appearance. The actions of the Colorado Police Officers -which were dismissed & ruled that they “displayed reasonable actions” - are utterly disgusting. The Colorado Police Department is notorious for these types of acts and don’t even receive a pink slip from IA or the state Authorities. Law enforcement needs officers trained on empathy, discernment, ethnic/socio-economic relations, and LAW.
The United States Department of Justice has opened a investigation into the beating of a homeless Black man by Colorado police. https://trib.al/vB5tEE0

Show Topic: The Way Forward A Conversation About Policing And Crime In America Join the Co-host Chiefs on Thursday at 6PM CST. As they discuss is there a way forward a conversation about policing and crime in America. The year 2020 was clearly an extremely challenging time for communities and law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. High-profile use-of-force incidents led to days of protests, civil unrest, and, tragically, further violence, destruction, and death. After the most recent police brutality incident in Mississippi where six former Rankin County Sheriff deputies are facing prison time for the brutal beating of two black men. So, the challenge confronting our communities and our agencies is how to effectively move forward together to build a shared understanding and identify common solutions to better protect our communities. We continue to raise this as the national crisis it is- and yet, when women seek help, be that through a DV Service or in this case police their very real concerns are dismissed. Women are the experts in their safety- they HAVE to be. And in this case- the disgusting dismissal of her genuine fears has had a catastrophic outcome. This was preventable. Its not good enough. The law is there to protect, not for people to make moral judgments on victim survivors based on their own implicit bias. I hope there is an end to end inquiry. #endviolenceagainstwomen #endsexualviolence #protectwomenandchildren
Last week Gold Coast woman Kelly Wilkinson’s husband pleaded guilty to her murder. She was 27. She had three children. She had hopes and dreams and a whole life yet to live. Not only has her husband pleaded guilty to her murder, we’ve also learned of the heinous way she was dismissed by the police she went to for help. Rest in peace, Kelly.

There is a much-needed conversation for parents and children. This project includes our family friend,Brian Montgomery and the tragic story of his son Walker who died by suicide last year due to sextortion. Please do not let Walker's death be in vain. Share his story so we can protect our children. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has outlined steps parents, and young people can take if they or their child are a victim of sextortion, including: 1. Remember, the predator is to blame, not your child or you. 2. Get help before deciding whether to pay money or otherwise comply with the predator. Cooperating or paying rarely stops the blackmail and continued harassment. 3. REPORT the predator’s account via the platform’s safety feature. 4. BLOCK the predator and DO NOT DELETE the profile or messages because that can be helpful to law enforcement in identifying and stopping them. 5. Let NCMEC help get explicit images of you off the internet. Visit https://lnkd.in/guXjKia8 to learn how to notify companies yourself, or Visit cybertipline.org to report to us for help with the process. 1. Ask for help. This can be a very complex problem and may require help from adults or law enforcement. 2. If you don’t feel that you have adults in your corner, you can reach out to NCMEC for support at gethelp@ncmec.org or call NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST. Visit: www.stopsextortion.com for more tips. Law & Order: SVU has some of the BEST episodes on television but they have failed to show more black and brown women as victims. Most of the victims are white, and not to diminish their pain, but black and brown women are victims too. When, they do finally show, a minority victim, she is light-skinned, conventionally pretty and conventionally thin. That’s not the reality I’ve seen. I heard a rumor that #detroitpolice covered-up a crime, and took a bribe. I know, it’s hearsay but it’s the truth. I also don’t have much faith in many pastors. #billwinston, #solomonkinloch and many others will take your money but won’t show much concern beyond the pulpit. Their handlers have inflated their egos. I guess, television is still bourgeoisie…..Also, I said that I believe in restorative Justice but this does not mean this should apply to serial abusers of the law. Yes, there needs to be more compassion for the general public, because most people are decent, but serial abusers need accountability and probably deep therapy. I don’t know…Just think if more men had to pay #billcosby money to victims, there’d be less crime….Goodnight, lovelies!!!! #restorativejusticepractices #lawandordersvu #littlemisstreason #billwinstonsucks #solomonkinlochsucks #billwinston #solomonkinloch #gaymenarenottheonlyvictimsofaids #noappetiteforbullying
