One of the best things about working in marketing is that you can make up reasons why we can't do silly things that people suggest... Someone suggests some bad copy? "Sorry. Doesn't fit the character limit" Someone suggests a bad design? "Sorry, its not the right format for socials" Anyone else have any others I can use? 🤣
"Just summarise it" *Opens up a 54 page PDF* 🤔
File>Export a PDF> Image> [select preferred format] (This is if your boss doesn’t defer to your expertise. If your boss does, hopefully, you can convince them that it’s worth it to allocate some of your time to pull the highlights from the PDF, create an appealing carousel, and then include the full PDF in the link in the bio.)
Instagram likes PDFs about as much as Mondays. Let's rethink this.
7 teeth, 2 eyes, 1 nose, Zero common sense. "This PDF is corrupted, sorry Boss"
Canva’s PDF import is prime. It makes converting and updating PDFs into infographics or social media posts a breeze ✌️
The hard part of marketing is trying to explain it to others who don't understand it & the worst part is when they try to do it anyway because it hurts the strategy. That "just do it" mentality. (Taking tiny screenshot of pdf and pasting it to a square so it's in 2pt font & posting it to Instagram making people unfollow you because you hurt their eyes). And yet it is unprofessional to say you told them so lol.
Nothing is impossible— here’s how I managed to break down a PDF report into a digestible, informational graphic 🙏🏻 https://www.instagram.com/p/C58GKDgu1hV/?igsh=MWVmcnpiZTF6MjVqdg==
Make it happen.
