One of my all-time favorite things to say is: "If it didn't run on Linux, it didn't run." That has been changing to: "If it didn't run on the cloud, it didn't run." (run on Linux is assumed) This is a counter-argument to, "it ran on my machine." It is often convenient for us to think that if something ran on our local machine, then it is working. However, we've all been burned many times and we know better. #linux #cloud

Cloud computing can be described as a stack that is formed by layers, similar to a cake. Those layers will be built using cloud computing services, servers, and components, which can leverage several different clouds forming a single application stack.⭕ OpenStack also relies on two additional foundation technologies: a base operating system, such as Linux, and a virtualization platform, such as VMware or Citrix.💻💯 #cloud #cloudcomputing #openstack #linux #orelcloud

Turns out, Dad wasn't entirely wrong! While clouds might appear fluffy and whimsical, the infrastructure behind them is anything but. Cloud computing relies heavily on Linux for its scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. Here's why Linux reigns supreme in the cloud: ✨Open Source Power: Freely available and customizable, Linux provides a flexible foundation for cloud platforms. ✨Lightweight & Efficient: Compared to bulkier operating systems, Linux optimizes resource utilization, making it ideal for cloud environments. ✨Security at its Core: Linux boasts a robust security architecture, crucial for protecting sensitive data in the cloud. ✨Community Driven: Backed by a vast developer community, Linux benefits from constant innovation and troubleshooting resources. So, the next time you upload a file to the cloud or stream a movie online, remember – there's probably a whole bunch of Linux servers humming away behind the scenes! #CloudComputing #Linux #CloudSecurity #TechFacts #WednesdayPost #Engage #LinkedinCommunity #Cloud
