It doesn't excite me, bores me to no end. Also, it puts my expertise to the test, especially when tables are involved.🥺 And then "finish me" with strict time frames.😲 No, I would rather pass on that opportunity. Writing easy-to-understand Blogs for SaaS-Based Companies | Technical Content Writer & Content Strategist | Marketing Maniac
I did not write anything for almost 4 months. Almost. Because after quitting my part-time job, I wanted to explore other fields of marketing, while maintaining writing as a side hustle. Guess what? It became a side-kick. Ignored, and almost non-existent. I grew lazy. And after the long pause when I got back, I had only degraded in - My Speed - My Thoughts - My Ability to Write Now, I am not saying you should skip breaks, but perhaps, don’t take one that is this long. Just don't let the work you do totally drift away! Writing needs consistent practice. And if it's something you love, You won't have to bother, Sit down and let it flow. Day 42 of 50 of being consistent on LinkedIn. P.S. For the full backstory on this 50-day mission, check out this post: https://rb.gy/v1u5e6 #linkedinchallenge #consistencyiskey #careergap #takingabreak

Writer ● Ghostwriter ● Content Strategist ● PhD Candidate ● I ghostwrite world-class memoirs, books, and LinkedIn content.
Month two and guess what? I’ve got LEADS. Not just leads, but actual business. I’ve got new clients who aren’t related to me, haven’t known me since birth, and in fact, don’t know me in any guise other than as a writer. Two new client meetings this week. One seminar on my new area of not-for-profit expertise. One meeting about a long extended ghostwriting project. Plus my two ongoing clients. Despite appearances, this isn't a giant boast. It's more about the lesson that I've learned in the last couple of months. Showing up really does work. I’ve been a little relentless about being out there, about pushing myself to do things that I’m not entirely comfortable with. I’ve been riding the rollercoaster. Not going to lie, I slipped once and applied for a couple of jobs after one particularly dreadful week. I got the rejection back today and it barely registered. I actually thought “Oh good, I don’t have to take time to withdraw my application now that I’m so busy.” But I’ve followed up every single lead. I’m busier than I was when I was in full-time employment. And I like my work a lot more. Don’t worry, I’m not resting on my laurels just yet, but I can say that consistency does matter and it does make a difference. That’s the #lifelesson of the week. #content #writing #consistency #solopreneuer #marketing — I’m Poppie Johnson. An outdoors-loving writer and content strategist who turns ideas into words and makes you sound as good as you are. Follow me on my journey to successful self-employment. Laughs guaranteed, learning optional.

Relatable content beats generic messaging. Every. Time. It's what the college student audience expects from us. And the best way to create relatable content is to share the stories that students and recent alums are telling. By leveraging their experiences, we can better motivate students to use resources like CU Boulder Career Services to help them succeed after graduation. Thanks to Hannah Clayton and Callie Habegger for sharing their stories with me and helping us inspire soon-to-be graduates 💼 #contentmarketing #studentsuccess #storytelling

I attended my CDS meeting yesterday, and something interesting happened. You know those moments when it feels like you're in the spotlight, with questions coming your way, and you absolutely can't afford to mess up? Well, I had one of those moments yesterday😂 I sat next to a girl I had never spoken to before, and we struck up a casual conversation. Eventually, she mentioned, "I'm on LinkedIn right now. Are you on LinkedIn? I'll follow you." Considering I'm in Editorial CDS, where there are plenty of creatives, it made sense that she'd be on LinkedIn. 😂 So, I typed my name into the search bar, and her reaction was priceless, "You have 4k followers?" She followed up with, "You're a content writer?" Then, she delved into a discussion about an online course she had created. She mentioned being a graphic designer and threw me a curveball, asking, "If you were to write a welcome email for my course, what would you write?" That was the moment I found myself put on the spot. I knew I had to give a solid response; otherwise, she'd quickly realize if I was clueless. Thankfully, I wasn't. I shared few insights with her, emphasizing that her email sequence was pivotal and could make or break whether people enrolled in her course. Few things I mentioned: ✔️Start by celebrating the fact that they've joined her email list. ✔️Introduce herself and convey why they should trust her. ✔️Offer a sneak peek into what's coming next. Will they receive more emails from her? What kind of content can they expect? Should they anticipate additional value from her? I emphasized that the email had to carry its weight and leave a lasting impact on the reader— One that would ultimately lead them to getting her course. When I finished explaining, she was genuinely impressed and made sure to ask for my contact. 📌The key takeaway here is to always be prepared for unexpected opportunities. You never know when a big opportunity will present itself, and when it does, how ready are you? Really, how ready are you? 📸 I and Ojo Sarah 💕 .....................................
