Latin America’s vast renewable energy potential gives the region an opportunity to become a green hydrogen powerhouse. Today, however, it remains an infant industry. To learn about the region’s comparative advantages, and challenges, in producing green hydrogen, a zero-emission energy source made through electrolysis powered by solar or wind energy, join us July 15 for a virtual dialogue on this strategic sector, with insights from Energy Minister Elisa Facio of Uruguay, CORFO | Chilean Economic Development Agency CEO José Miguel Benavente of Chile, James Callaway of MAE (Mejillones Ammonia Energy), Sebastian Delgui of Fortescue, and three experts from our partner institution, the Inter-American Development Bank, Anabel González, Maria Florencia Attademo-Hirt (she/her), and Rafael Matas Trillo.
