A product manager can solve many problems. Product/market fit is not one of them. 0-1 product talent does not exist. Founders, this is you. It's your (only) job to find product/market fit. There needs to be as little abstraction between the person selling to customers and the people who are prioritizing what to build / doing the shipping. The loop needs to be tight, without intermediaries. Don't get me wrong: you still need some solid product management skillset to find product/market fit. I just believe that in the earliest stages, it should be the founders' responsibility. The same way you don't need a VP sales before you proved that founding sales works, you shouldn’t hire a product manager before you proved that founding product works. If you’re not a product person, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and learn the craft. Good news is it’s not that hard as long as you’re passionate about the problem you’re solving for customers.

🚀 An industry-leading B2B SaaS company is looking for a Product person to join their team and help them define their strategy as they continue on a growth trajectory. I know personally this year I'm looking to make a more positive impact where I can, so if you're thinking similarly then this is an opportunity to join a team that is on a mission to do just that. Things you'll be getting involved in/leading include ✨Product Strategy & Vision ✨Product Development & Roadmap ✨Market Analysis & Competitor Research ✨Establishing Metrics & KPIs Whilst exciting periods of growth come with fast-paced and often challenging environments, they have a real relaxed culture and we can personally vouch for the character of the Founders. If you're a commercial thinking, product person who has been through growth journeys and has what it takes to come in and drive the product strategy forward (with a great group of people), I'd love to have a chat 😊 📍3 days at home, 1 day in Chorley, and 1 day in Central Manchester. #productmanager #B2B #SaaS #product #Manchester #Chorley

Attention hiring managers looking for product managers, do you want to get paid to hire product managers? I am talking about getting paid to hire for the product managers and spending less time sourcing unqualified candidates. Every week I see 700+ product manager postings flood the inboxes of hiring managers looking for a product manager. Most of these candidates are wildly unqualified and your LinkedIn inbox was not built to source and sift resumes. Let my good friend Steven Reynolds from Braintrust take care of the whole process for you with AI. PS I am being compensated a little something something from Braintrust from for the shoutout and here's the best part, you can too 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉 My fellow product managers its time to diversify our income streams and being a connector with Braintrust is a great place to start. Saying NO! ----------- Recently I was helping someone hire a Product Manager. I was exchanging notes with the hiring team after discussions with the candidate. For any Product Manager, Saying No to stakeholders is an extremely important skill to have, when you prioritise and make trade off decision. I was telling the hiring team that the PM candidate seemed to have the ability to push back and say no to senior stakeholders. I also warned them that the candidate may not be very diplomatic in the way he says no! But that it would be fine in their context since it was a B2C product, with primarily internal stakeholders. However in a B2B product context, where you are interacting with senior customer stakeholders it is extremely critical that you be diplomatic. #InsideDopeOnProducts #ProductManagement #Prioritization #SayingNo

Well the results are out 📊 As promised I wanted to give more depth to my opinion on this and why I think it does play a part, but there's more important aspects when hiring Product People. Industry experience is crucial within certain sectors (payments and crypto being two off the top of my head), where you can't necessarily hit the ground running without prior knowledge. Even with SME's within the business it can still take months if not longer to pick up the necessary knowledge. It also has a general benefit if you had two equal candidates but one has more industry exposure. However within the majority of markets I don't feel that the industry experience is crucial. I've placed people from e-commerce into telecoms roles, with them picking up the industry extremely quickly and could use plenty more examples. The main crucial thing when hiring Product people is their soft skills and characteristics. With the 4 below being some of the most crucial in my opinion: *Communication *Creativity *Negotiation skills *Problem solving These stand out to me when recruiting for Product roles far more than tenure on paper, industry experience or qualifications. This is also my experience from the majority of senior product leaders and what they look for in candidates. I will follow on next week in a deeper dive into the the key product characteristics 💡 Interested in peoples thoughts? #product #productmanager #productowner #productmanagement #headofproduct

Passionate about VC helping sustainable innovation | Product Manager with 6 years of experience | BizDev and B2B Sales | FinTech | Health | Tech HR Tech | Web3
I guess it’s time for one another job search posts. Nice to meet you, I’m Boris, experienced product manager with over 5 years of experience with multimillion MAU products, mostly mobile. And that’s just one part of it - working both in Tech and out of it I’ve always been doing a large chunk of sales and BusDev and I won’t be shy - quite successfully. Managed dev teams up to 20 people and large numbered cross-functional teams towards meaningful results. So what am I looking for? First of all, meaningful products and teams. With the tangible value. Ideally B2B SaaS, but B2C works too. Again, with real value to its users. In Israel now, so won't mind both full time/hybrid office position here/ in the UK, or remote setting. I can do both launch MLP/MVP as well as take over mature product that needs a fresh take on its value proposition, additional revenue streams or international expansion. I can also create a stable profitable pipeline of happy accounts with delightful LTV and low churn. So please like, do not hesitate to share and comment for better reach, let’s see if LinkedIn is as good of a job search tool as some claim:) Or just reach out, let’s talk! Thank you and good luck to me :) #openforwork #openforopportunities #product #productdevelopment #productdesign #businessdevelopment #internationalbusiness #sales #accountmanagement
