🌐 Following the kick-off meeting from January, in Vienna, on April 10-11, we hosted the first Technical Group Meeting (TGM) of the 2025 Large-scale Level 3 Convention Exercise (ConvEx-3), an international event that gathered experts, local authorities and international organizations. The scope of this meeting was to align the approach to ConvEx-3 by agreeing on the exercise’s objectives, scope, and timeline, defining key aspects of the scenario, and building a consensus on the overall work plan. During the event co-hosted by IAEA and Romania, we reviewed the insights from ConvEx-3 (2021) and asses many aspects of the emergency response exercise encompassing preparation, conduct, and evaluation. For CONVEX-3 (2025) we discussed the organization crafted and approved the working plan to streamline the strategies and roles of the envisioned players. #ConvEx3 #EmergencyResponse #PublicSafety #InternationalCooperation #NuclearPreparedness #CNCAN #IAEA #WHO #WMO #ILO #OECD_NEA #DG_ECHO #EADRCC #DSU

👏 [#PhD] On 10 April, Florian HULIN successfully defended his thesis on the hydrodynamic loads induced by the impact of breaking waves on floating wind turbines. The approach adopted, which combined numerical simulations and wave flume tank tests, was particularly appreciated. 🎥 Watch a selection of sequences of his defence: https://lnkd.in/ehRPcnWN This work was carried out as part of the #DIMPACT research project. Florian was supervised by Nicolas Jacques (ENSTA Bretagne), Alan Tassin (Ifremer) and Jean-François Filipot (France Énergies Marines Marines).
