The House of Metaxa unites with Line Athens, ranked 12th best bar by The World's 50 Best Bars, in an educational roadshow dedicated to bartenders worldwide! From Paris to New Orleans and starting June 2024, METAXA will host one-of-a kind events focused on mixology and sustainability. Nikos Bakoulis and Vasilis Kyritsis, the co-owners of LINE (and The Clumsies bar), will take turns visiting major cities along with the METAXA Team, where they will animate seminars and mixology workshops. Topics explored will include CSR initiatives, sustainable farming, ingredient sourcing and processing, and bar people management. During the cocktail workshop, bartenders will (re)discover METAXA’s rich versatility, while crafting sustainable recipes with ingredients specifically selected by the bartending duo.  In some cities, guest shifts will also be open to the public, for all to enjoy and “Taste the Unexpected” - stay posted for more updates. We are thrilled to share that METAXA LIKNON - newly opened to the public - has already gained international recognition for its unique architecture. Happy Earth Day! Within METAXA’s commitment to protect its Terroir in Samos, for the past few years, METAXA has joined forces with the Hellenic Ornithological Society in a program aiming at nature and birdlife conservation on the Greek island. Through this program, METAXA aims to help preserve its Terroir and the island’s rich biodiversity. This CSR initiative adresses the 15th Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations: "Life on Land". Objectives of the program include: 1. Monitoring of bird species living on Samos, migrating to Samos and/or passing by Samos, with a focus on species under extinction. 2. Small scale interventions in benefit of wildlife by placing nest boxes, insect hotel and bird feeding stations. 3. Awareness raising and education. 4. Promotion of METAXA LIKNON as an exemplary site of coexistence of farmland, nature and people that could be replicated in other areas. In 2024, a rare moment in The House of Metaxa’s history will take place - the 6th Metaxa Master transition - as Konstantinos Kalpaxidis will succeed Konstantinos Raptis' role.  To mark this meaningful event, which last occurred more than 30 years ago, they are co-signing a product: the Private Reserve METAXA Orama!  Like all the Masters before him, Konstantinos Kalpaxidis combines the savoir-faire of a Winemaker, a Distiller and a Cellar Master. His ambition is also to produce METAXA in a more sustainable way. In a recent collaboration, The House of Metaxa has entrusted talented Polish artists to create a contemporary collection of ceramics designed for METAXA cocktails. While not strictly a brandy (on account of its wine content), in order to be pragmatic the brand is included alongside the bestselling brandies, and rightfully so it seems.
