ActivumSG has today announced the hire of Nicholas Temperley as a new Director within our Investor Relations team. Temperley joins from pan-European real estate fund manager Europa, where he was an associate director focused on business development. As part of his new role with us, Temperley will focus on project management to support product formation, capital raising and servicing clients within ActivumSG’s existing LP base. Saul Goldstein, our founder said: “A rising tide of regulation combined with the challenging macro-environment means that investors are – rightly – demanding more from their managers. Nick’s role will be critical to ensuring that our LPs’ needs are met during these uncertain times. That said, uncertainty opens opportunity for managers like us focused on the opportunistic and value-add end of real estate investing, and a major focus for us this year will be ensuring that our investors benefit from this market upheaval.” Nicholas Temperley, Director, Investor Relations, said: “ActivumSG is a business I have long admired, and I have keenly watched their progress over the years as they have established themselves as one of Europe’s leading independent investment managers. I see the company’s pan-European reach, with a focus on select markets bolstered by boots-on-the-ground in-country expertise, as helping to uncover opportunities either too hidden or complex for other managers.” Read the full story in React News here: https://lnkd.in/emGbCS88

The comment section on this post, at 250+ when writing this has hit a nerve. I have been in that process before with different organisations including the mentioned one and it does leave a bad taste. It is quite clear from people's testimonies just on the recruitment process how fragile reputation is. I do hope the organisation itself works on turning this around. They did try responding to the individual comments but you can see they are not responding to the key issues raised by candidates who applied for several roles over periods of time (across months) even after meeting different leaders in different departments that the candidate would potentially work in only to be dropped. It is sad to see that this is still going on. My first application was in 2016/17 and even then it was the same issues being raised. I do hope that this post will bring a change to the recruitment process of the organisation and other similar organisations work on getting things better for candidates.
One Acre Fund HR eagerly anticipating 2024, when they will resume their relentless campaign to fill that Communications Manager role that has been vacant since 1984:
