Continuing the awesome intelligence from our recent survey from the largest and most engaged audience of truck drivers in the country CDLLife, interesting, but not surprising, that a supportive work environment is what motivates drivers the most during challenging times. Building a great team starts by building relationships and defining great experiences for drivers before they are even hired. Hiring great drivers is NOT about casting a wide advertising net or even spending a lot on advertising....there is a better way. https://lnkd.in/eNKrvkEG

Our National Truck Driver Appreciation Week continues spotlighting Joe Fuller, responsible for transporting oversize and overweight freight for Bushell Transport Co Ltd. Q: National Truck Driving Week is an opportunity to inspire the next generation. What advice would you give to young individuals who are considering a career in truck driving, especially those who are passionate about Peterbilt trucks? A: Young individuals need to make sure they are aware of what they are getting into before getting into it. Educate yourself, maybe spend some time with a well seasoned operator to hear all the good and the bad that come with the career. Make sure they are aware that it is more than just a job, it is a lifestyle, a lifestyle that is not necessarily for everyone, a lifestyle that does take you away from friends and family for periods of time however, it is a lifestyle that holds many bonuses such as, being able to travel the country/countries seeing different cultures, different people, how they live and all the scenery that comes with the travel, whether it be nice sunny weather or dark stormy (tornados/blizzards). They need to understand that one always has to take the good with the bad. Don't miss out on our last driver spotlight coming tomorrow!

Joining us four years ago, Allison Notturnniano recently stepped into her role of Field Service Supervisor. Allison originally served as ProLift’s Rental Specialist and in this role also oversaw Transportation. Allison is excited to be the first Field Service Supervisor in our northern Ohio territory! #MemberSpotlight with Allison Notturniano "What is your advice for women entering the material handling industry?" - This industry can be intimidating because it is male dominated. My advice would be to jump in and learn by asking questions. You must have the confidence to speak up and let your voice be heard. In my opinion, this industry is so fascinating. The world cannot go around without us, and COVID is proof of that. We haven’t slowed down since! "What has been your favorite project/event at ProLift over your last 12 months, and why?" – Since beginning my role as Field Service Supervisor, I have been involved in a lot of projects. My favorite project was helping with our ASEC recertification, working with a service technician to 5S his van. Our Toyota ASEC rep, Rick, told us that it was an honor to photograph our van. It was very rewarding receiving that feedback and knowing that I contributed to passing a chapter in the recertification. #prolifttoyota #elevate #womensimpactnetwork #womeninbusiness #womenatwork #materialhandling #professionalgrowth

A well organized onboarding while starting into a new company - maybe one of the most impactful things you can imagine. The first impressions of a company will stay in your mind for a while or maybe for a long time. I remember a really cool onboarding with Joerg Tauert a couple of months ago, more than 11 years ago to be fair. It was a great start to have an overview about how Turck is behaving, what things we do and who are important key persons to know early. Our HR responsibles are organizing in a fantastic way and the training department take that new #people with them for a week , supported by marketing, business units, workers council, IT and many more, to give a whole overview of the company and its best in a nutshell. A week full of nutshell!! From how Turck was founded to what decentralized automation and industrial solutions for a better tomorrow it’s a big number of different content. Because we do a hell of many things. Why we do this? Because people are our most important resource! Without the right team you will not succeed. And having a great pizza in the evening with the international attendees to build up a first #team relation is a big portion of this story as well :) #Turck

Global Logistics Professional delivering high performance, integrity and passion. Posts and content do not represent positions of any company and are my own.
SOME CONCEPTS STAY WITH YOU..... I don't know exactly what year P & O Containers issued these note pads, but the impact of the lessons learned and modeled by many great mentors remain with many of us fortunate to have been shaped by that culture. For me, three decades ago I joined the team. "POSH" was coined by the founding company Peninsular and Orient Steam Navigation Company in the 1800's. On cruises between England and India, booking your state room "Port Outward, Starboard Home" assured you the cooling of tradewinds. We focused on being a "white glove" carrier, where service could be second to none. What culture and "service habits" have you carried through your career? How do you model best practices? Grateful to my former colleagues at P & O.

Recently I mentioned that April this year seemed different to previous years. PO's were not being issued in the time frame that we would expect and I started to doubt myself. I started asking... *Can I do this? *Am I good enough to take this business forward? *Did I make the right decision walking away from a "safe" job? This week, that completely changed, and I think I've got the answers, all PO's that we expected have been received and in addition we received a particular one which marks the single largest PO for the business thus far! I had to ask my other half to check if that really is what I thought it is. We had a mini celebration before it dawned on me what that actually meant. *more vehicles *more ramps *more staff *more machinery *more PPE *more training *more phone calls *more emails luckily we have great connections who are always on hand to support us with some of the above making it a relatively smooth process. Stuart Taylor’s / Stephen Gomes / DnA Ramps and Access / Anhar Miah / Salma B. Just to name a few. watch this space! #businessrelationships #connections #groundsmaintenance #facilities #facilitiesmanagement
