Happy 125th anniversary to the The Anti-Cruelty Society! They hosted a beautiful gala at The Geraghty March 9. A highlight of the night was meeting Ajax, a Plott hound mix and media star, who was discovered standing loyally over his deceased owner's body last year. He now has a very loving home.....it's a beautiful story. This nonprofit was created in 1899 and is one of the oldest shelters in Illinois. Each year BUILD Chicago helps more than 3,200 West Side Chicago youth and families build hope, lives, and futures—disrupting the pipeline of gun violence in our city. With services like gang intervention and mental health care, out-of-school camps and college counseling, studio art and sports—they help youth develop the skills and support network they need to overcome barriers, survive, and thrive. This year, Build once again celebrated these incredible young people, and the power of investing in peace at Build’s annual gala. The Chicago Bears were honored to be acknowledged as the Corporate Community BUILDer honoree. George H. McCaskey was humbled to accept the award presented by Adam M. Alonso on behalf of the work and contributions of the Chicago Bears.
