It is tough seeing yet another list where NM is ranked last, but I do love seeing where we have improved: -Reduced number of children in poverty -Reduced number of teens who are not in school and not working - Increased the number of HS students graduating on time We still have work to do, NM, but we should take time to appreciate the work we have done already. JUST RELEASED: South Carolina ranks 40th overall in child well-being, according to the 2024 KIDS COUNT Data Book. This report analyzes how children and families are faring across the nation. The annual ranking uses indicators from four key domains: economic well-being, education, health, and family and community. This year’s report also includes several critical education indicators showing mixed results for South Carolina's math and reading achievement. We are proud to partner with the Annie E. Fantastic new resource from the Alliance for Resource Equity (an Education Resource Strategies/EdTrust partnership) that can really help advocates understand and make the case for resource equity in their school systems. Yes, resource equity means equitable school funding, but also equitable access to resources like rigorous coursework, high-quality and diverse teachers, student support services, etc. These data stories can really help us get concrete about what an equitable school experience should look like. https://lnkd.in/gER8H3jk
