Collaborating across generations is a recipe for positive change. ✨ According to a recent We Are Family Foundation (WAFF) report, “Collaborating Across Generations: Insights, Challenges, and Best Practices," 96% of respondents believe intergenerational collaboration can create a brighter future. However, only 19% think youth are given enough chances to lead. WAFF highlights the need for intergenerational teamwork to address the world's most significant issues. Read the report here: https://lnkd.in/g7zr6y7j 💖 We ensure cross-generational representation in each convening that Time for Better hosts at our event activation, Hope House. One of our favorite events took place during COP28, where we hosted a session on intergenerational women’s leadership at Hope House, featuring Amanda Yates (Global Sustainability Director a 3M), Farhana Yamin (Environmental Lawyer), and Victoria Whalen (Media Fellow, Black Girl Environmentalist), moderated by our CEO and Founder Sierra Quitiquit. What are some best practices you have seen for intergenerational collaboration? ____________________ Want to engage youth in your business meaningfully? Let's talk. At Time for Better, we specialize in creative climate communications and consulting. #Climate #ClimateSolutions #CrossGeneration #IntergenerationalCollaboration #ClimateAction

BEACON - Tribe 9 of the United People Global Sustainability Leadership 2024 Presents...... An extract from the great dictator. In the seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written: “The kingdom of God is within man” Not one man, nor a group of men, but in all men; in you. You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy let us use that power. Let us all unite! Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie. They do not fulfill that promise, they never will. Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people. Now let us fight to fulfill that promise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers! In the name of democracy: Let us all unite! Learning, Culture, and Change Leader | Leading DEI Certified | Bringing the "DCG Difference" | Leading Talent Sustainability LinkedIn Group Owner
One of my favorite keynotes from #greenbiz24 this week was a conversation about what it looks like for business to work authentically toward a just transition, with Derrick Johnson, President & CEO, NAACP, and Wawa Gatheru, Rhodes Scholar, Founder & Executive Director of Black Girl Environmentalist. Facilitated by Dylan Siegler, GreenBiz Group's SVP, Sustainability, the discussion centered on what a just transition means, how the social construct of race has changed since the NAACP’s founding 115 years ago this week, and how Johnson and Gatheru think about their own influencing roles. “For Gen Z, and specifically Gen Z of color, ESG commitments & DEI commitments aren't just an add-on, they are a requirement, for us to see a future with your organizations -- point blank, period” said Gatheru, which gets to the real ‘why’ of this work for business. She reminded attendees that by 2025, Gen Z will comprise 27% of the workforce and ‘climate quitting’ is already happening with Gen Z and Millennial talent (sharing a link to part of Gatheru’s keynote where she defines 'just transition' and speaks to these points; see a link for additional information on 'climate quitting'). How are your leaders thinking about their #ESG & #DEI commitments -- as an add-on or a ‘must have’? How is your organization working authentically toward a just transition? #sustainabilityleadership #GenZ #sustainablebusinessstrategies
Dear businesses, you can either get behind the just transition or be left behind. Honored to have shared the #GreenBiz2024 stage with Derrick Johnson, CEO & President of the NAACP in a candid conversation around the anti-ESG movement, the roots of a #justtransition, and the practice of climate quitting. My nonprofit Black Girl Environmentalist understands that environmental justice is key when it comes to a just transition. In order for the green economy space to create opportunities for the meaningful involvement of all people with respect to environmental decision-making, we must invest and create pathways to onboard the next generation of climate leaders of color. We have to create a movement that is made in the image of all of us. We are always looking for aligned partners who are also invested in this fight ✊🏾
