In honor of #WorldPatientSafetyDay2023 (yesterday) - the theme this year is "Engaging patients for patient safety". 🌎 Whether you are conducting telehealth appointments, working in a hospital, nursing home, outpatient clinic , clinic trials, research, etc., patient #safety should always be a #priority. We should be #educating and raising #awareness for #patients & their #families. As a patient - don't forget to be your own #advocate! How can I learn more? Can I help make improvements with my plan or future policies? Is there a clinical trial available? ....ask questions 🤔 #Raise, #Engage, #Empower & #Advoate; #transparency, #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #patientcentricity #KCRCRO #culturematters @ KCR 💙💛

Really interesting to see the results of the latest Care Quality Commission NHS Patient Survey programme survey (as delivered by Ipsos UK) - especially where there are differences, with short and planned stays associated with better experiences than longer and emergency stays. #PatientExperience #NHS #Survey #Surveys
The 2022 Adult Inpatient Survey results are now released. The survey conducted by Ipsos UK, on behalf of the Care Quality Commission, looks at the experiences of adults admitted to hospital as an inpatient. The results this year show some changes in people’s experience of inpatient care compared with the 2021 survey, although declines have generally been less pronounced. There has been a deterioration in experience across a number of areas, including the overall experience. Waiting times is an area that has also seen a marked decline in results, along with questions related to staffing levels. Nearly 4 in 10 (39%) of people who were on a waiting list or had a planned admission would have liked to have been admitted ‘a lot’ or ‘a bit sooner’ to hospital, compared with 35% in 2021. Certain patient groups continue to have worse than average inpatient hospital experiences, illustrated in the infographic below. Hospital Discharge: What to expect. It can be overwhelming being discharged from a hospital as an outpatient. Before you leave the hospital, here’s our guidance on what you should prepare, if required: - Set up a care package with a care provider. - Arrange a 2-week supply of current prescribed medications to be sent home. - Any equipment needed to be ordered and delivered home. - If required, transport must be arranged to take you home. - Outpatient review appointment booked. - A discharge summary report for you to take home and arrange for a copy to be sent to your GP.
