We're on our way to our goal of securing 40 globally significant island-ocean ecosystems for restoration and rewilding by 2030 to benefit people, wildlife and our planet. Yeah, it’s a big goal, and your support can make all the difference. Now is your time to invest in the planet and protect what you love through a donation to Island Conservation. By donating $40 monthly, you can directly contribute to restoring 40 islands – that’s just $1/island each month. And let’s be real, we all have at least $40 of subscriptions collecting virtual dust (don’t worry, you’re not the only one with 1000 spare Audible credits). Will you be a part of the impact today and help us reach our goal? Donate today >> https://lnkd.in/gDZeZV4r #IslandConservation #islandrestoration #climateresilience #monthlydonor

So much global effort on deforestation, so much effort on mangroves and the coastal environment - but freshwater wetlands are globally disappearing quicker than all these habitats...time to act to save wetlands..
Wetlands are vanishing three times faster than forests. This winter, help us to restore these incredible ecosystems. Donate today, and give back to nature 👉 https://ow.ly/ij5F50Ql7VQ?

Excellent citizen science project to get involved in. Really simple to carry out, just record any waders you see on 4th or 5th November and send the results to Wader Quest to collate. #waders #shorebirds #citizenscience

We're just 4 days away from the Weston-super-Half in aid of Project Seagrass. Many of the population aren't in the know when it comes to seagrass, which is why we are fundraising and sharing important facts along the way, please give, if you can, to our fundraiser for Project Seagrass (link in comments). Seagrasses only occupy 0.1% of the seafloor yet are responsible for 18% of organic carbon buried in the oceans. Seagrass meadows are able to store carbon in their sediment, essentially ‘locking’ away large amounts of carbon and acting as a carbon store. Help protect seagrass meadows by supporting our fundraiser for Project Seagrass. #fundraising #seagrass #projectseagrass #climatechange #climateaction #climatecrisis #justgiving #halfmarathon

I am really excited about Severn River Association's #oysterrestoration program this summer! It's kicking off next month in three big ways: 1) We are putting in 10 MILLION #oysters on our #restoration reef at Traces Hollow 2a with the help of our partners Oyster Recovery Partnership -- and with YOUR HELP (see the match grant alert below): https://lnkd.in/g9UgCMY7 2) Our #MarylandersGrowOysters program participants will be planting their home-grown oysters on a different area of Traces Hollow starting June 1. SRA has the largest MGO program with over 300 households growing oysters in cages off of docks/piers for nine months while the spat on shell grow big and strong enough for planting on a #reef. 3) With our boat Sea Girl finally repaired and back in the water, we will be fitting her with a newly designed instrument. Late this summer that instrument will pump oyster #larvae onto yet another #restorationreef for 'direct setting', a new technique that may be able to supplement (but not supplant) our other restoration techniques. This is thanks to a grant from Chesapeake Bay Trust and the Chesapeake Oyster Alliance. #ConnectProtectRestore #OysterRestoration #SevernRiver #EnvironmentalConservation #OysterReef #MarineConservation #SustainableFuture #EcoFriendly #CommunityImpact #MarylandersGrowOysters #ReefRestoration #SpatOnShell #OysterRecovery #HealthyEcosystems #SupportLocal #NonProfit #ChesapeakeBay #ChesapeakeOysters #OceanHealth #AquaticLife #ConservationEfforts #SeaGirl #InnovationInRestoration #OysterLarvae #RestorationTechniques
MATCH GRANT ALERT! SRA supporter Doug Legum, the founders of our oyster program-board member Ted Delaplaine and former board member Bob Whitcomb-along with board member Jeffrey Schomig are offering to match #GreenGive donations up to $22,000. Our goal this year is $47,000 which would fully fund our large-scale #oysterrestoration planting. We can’t meet this #matchchallenge without YOU! Please help us plant 10 Million spat-on-shell oysters on Traces Hollow 2a sanctuary reef this year to further our vision of a Thriving Severn River by 2050. Early giving is underway. You can be a donor to oyster restoration anytime now through June 5th. https://lnkd.in/gZgNV68E #oysters #restoration #severnrivermd #environmentalrestoration #river #estuary #support #waterquality #MATCHGRANTALERT #GreenGive #OysterRestoration #SaveTheBay #SevernRiver #EnvironmentalConservation #Fundraising #MatchChallenge #DonateNow #RestoreOurWaters #MarineConservation #CleanWater #SustainableFuture #EcoFriendly #SupportLocal #NonProfit #CommunityImpact #HealthyEcosystems #OysterReef #ThrivingSevern2050

This evening! Join Our Executive Director Anouk Bertner and World Wildlife Fund Canada President & CEO Megan Leslie for 'Fundraising for the Long Emergency. A candid discussion about how we address long-standing issues, today.' Fundraisers have a significant impact in sectors like the environment, health, housing, food security and education—and yet we know there is more work to be done. Join fellow fundraisers for a candid conversation on how to keep our cause relevant and motivate action. The Eisenhower Matrix teaches us to act on issues that are both important and urgent. When your cause is chronically in need of being addressed - and will not be addressed overnight - how do you keep the attention and interest of your supporters? Climate change has been dubbed "the long emergency" and, like many causes in the charitable sector, has a timeline that extends past our own lives. Discover effective strategies to maintain the significance and urgency of your cause over an extended period. #fundraising #environment #urgentaction #climatecrisis #climateaction #nonprofit #changemakers #sustainability #inspireaction #charity
