Awareness for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital- Cancer has effected all of us at one time or another. Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for U.S. children past infancy. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has increased children's survivability from 20% 50 years ago to 80% today. In order to help raise funds for many families and children whose lives have been affected by cancer, I will be competing the toughest 50k race in the USA; the Speedgoat Mountain Race in Utah July 19-20th. Covering the 11,500ft of incline with a 45lb ALICE pack before cutoff time. "That's my goal; a little pain shared is pain lessened for another." Donate at the link below: https://lnkd.in/dvnRPzEb Please bring attention to this by sharing and giving if you can. V/R Your friend, Steve *Written by a human* Get fit while raising funds for

Hi again friends and connections and Happy Dry July Eve. Last Tuesday I posted that I was participating in Dry July to raise funds to help people suffering from cancer. I set myself a (apparently too modest) target of $500 (AUD) for the month of July. Well, that target was passed on about 28 June, so I have had to revise my fundraising target – I now think that $1500 is achievable. With almost 2,000 connections between LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, I just need a hit rate of 10% of all of you to donate $5 (you can’t buy a drink for that anywhere), and then I’ll get to the $1,500 with room to spare. If you are donating in Euros, GB Pounds, or US Dollars, I’ll be happy with 3 (euro, GBP, USD). This is also a little bit of an experiment about the social medial algorithms. We know that posts don’t go to all our friends and connections, so improving the reach of this post is really important. A huge thankyou to the people who have already donated and also to those who have commented on and shared posts – you are putting these algorithms to work to help cancer sufferers. One final thing, in preparation for Dry July, I have abstained from alcohol this week, so I have done the hard part – breaking the habit. I’m sleeping better and my clothes are ‘not as firm’. A win/win situation. If you want to get involved just go to this website www.dryjuly.com #cancer #dryjully #healthyhabits
Support John Phelan this Dry July and make a donation.

CFO with broad experience in successful M&A, restructuring and turnaround cases in the logistics and banking industry, with background in strategy consultancy and work experience in Germany and the US.
Hi, I am a St. Jude Hero! My family (Dr. Claudiana Triskatis) and myself moved to the USA last year. As part of living in this great country it was always my dream to run the New York Marathon and this year I will do it - on the day of my birthday! When researching on the race, I realized that I could make it happen and combine this with a bigger reason by fundraising for the kids and families at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: 1) Every donation helps find a cure for childhood cancer. Did you know: Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. 2) Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer. 3) St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. My race is already funded - but like in business, then let's not stop but set the target higher: my enhanced goal is to double the amount and every additional donation will help to support more children and goes straight to St. Jude. Donate today to help me to reach my enhanced goal. #donation #setyourtarget #marathon
