With June being Pride month. Pride can take many forms, meanings, and resonate with each of us differently. - Pride is a feeling of satisfaction that you have because you or people close to you have done something good or possess something good. - Pride is a sense of the respect that other people have for you, and that you have for yourself. - Pride is a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired. - Pride is a feeling that you like and respect yourself and that you deserve to be respected by other people. - Pride is a consciousness of one's own dignity. - Pride is being especially proud of a particular quality or skill. I have to say I take great Pride when people can see the value it has and the potential it could add to your life. When you have great pleasure and respect in all you do it is self-fulfilling. I personally take great Pride in everything I do with intentionality. I ask that each of you approach each day with Pride. I hope each of you get great satisfaction in your life, career, feel respected, valued, and extreme pleasure in all you do. The overarching meaning of Pride can be limitless and drive positivity beyond anything you can imagine.

Every year, I take off between XMAS and my birthday These 3 weeks of freedom are one of my favorite things about how I have created my career. I clear my calendar from calls so that I have no deadlines or obligations. I let myself do whatever I want. I move from XMAS to NYE to my BDAY in a high vibe. I build up my desire to go back to work that I can’t wait to serve my clients. But most importantly, this break gives me so much space to reflect on the year past and set intentions for the year ahead. If you haven’t picked up on this yet, I’m really into visioning, innovation, and creating your best life 😉 While I do spend a lot of time adventuring, reading, relaxing, and being with my people, the true cornerstone of this vacation is having time to check in with myself, get super clear about what I want, and write it down. Achieving this clarity pays huge dividends and helps me to move faster with confidence. What is your favorite way to kick start the year and set your intentions? Let me know in the comments. 🚀 Curious how I created my dream career working on the food system? I recorded a vid that tells the full story and gives you all the details. You can watch it here: https://lnkd.in/eaXnp_VQ

We hope you started the year as strong as we did! But here’s a gentle reminder, it’s important to set some time aside for life outside of work too. Take it from our very own Deputy GM, Jin Young Jang, who tells us all about it in this video 🎤

Join us in celebrating this month's Employee Spotlight: Andrey Shafigullin! Learn more about Andrey below! How long have you been working with NASCENT?: 1 year and 8 months now (20 months) Favorite memory at NASCENT?: Our last Holydays Party at "Top Golf" - That was FUN! What does a typical day look like for you?: I usually start at 7:30AM by digging through some emails and Teems messages and reviewing my tasks and setting up a goal for a day. We also have our daily stand-up meeting in the morning to report and/or resolve any blockers. Day goes on with fulfilling tasks and performing our best as a team to deliver best possible product. Favorite part of the job?: My favorite part would be to communicate and collaborate with my team members, to resolve an issue or generate a solution. That is an exciting part of my job. Do you have any advice for anyone working at Nascent?: Remember that a job, even a great job or a fantastic career, doesn’t give your life meaning, at least not by itself. Life is about what you learn, who you are or can become, who you love and are loved by.

Work cultures can be tricky to navigate at times; sometimes, when coming into an organization with lots of seniority, a new person is not seen as part of the clique, especially if they replaced an influential senior member of the team. As new hires replace those who retire these individuals may face resistance or may not be included in basic social gatherings such as lunch. Another issue is not everyone is the most social person in the world. Neurodivergent workers often feel left out because they cannot connect with their coworkers. The coworkers may feel that they don't want to be with them, so they don't ask. It's all about being inclusive and always extending an invitation. You never know what the other person feels or perceives. Everyone wants a positive culture and a great place to work, so employees need to create those spaces for themselves and for others. Organizations run at their optimum when people feel respected, valued, and heard. Let’s create more safe spaces at work! #inclusion #empathy #culture #culturematters #respect #value #diversitymatters #diversityintech #workculture #neurodiversity #inclusivity

Q. I have a new job. I really like the work and the people. A lot of them go out to lunch together. So far they haven’t invited me to lunch. Would it be rude to ask them, can I join you for lunch? I have been eating in my car. A. No, it’s not rude. They may assume that because you bring your lunch you don’t want to go out to eat with them. Ask a coworker from the lunch group, it looks like you all have fun walking down the street to get lunch. Mind if I join you one day? Congratulations on the new job. I’m so glad you are enjoying it. Here’s to you!
