🌍 The Female Foundry just released their anticipated "State of Gender Diversity in European Venture 2024" report, shedding light on the incredible resilience of female founders and emerging fund managers in the challenging fundraising landscape. - Despite hurdles, the report reveals investments into European female-led startups reached €5.9 billion in 2023, the third-highest year on record. - 11% of total venture capital in Europe in 2023 went to startups with female co-founders, a 1% increase from 2022, despite a difficult fundraising environment - European female entrepreneurs are securing larger funding rounds, with significant increases in Series C and Series A round sizes. 🌐 According to the Female Foundry's survey, one in three female emerging fund managers express optimism about 2024, reflecting a broader positive sentiment within the European venture community. Dive in and discover how ESIL an EU-funded project is empowering angel investors in Eastern Europe. 🌟 With the aim of increasing the flow of capital that deep tech start-ups need to scale, ESIL has selected six countries for its two-day training sessions: Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechia, Croatia, and Hungary. The objective? "Female Founders is the New Normal" - No, It's Not ❌ In November, I was recognized by Sifted Magazine among exceptional female founders who made waves in Europe's fintech landscape, like Margot de Broglie and Alexia de Broglie, Anne Boden, Georgia Stewart, Rania Lamprou, and many more. One of my deepest passions is to foster a founder world that is more diverse, inclusive, and with a stronger female presence. ◾ Reality Check: We Have a Long Way to Go! By the end of February, only about 19.4% of total capital invested in European startups was allocated to companies founded or co-founded by women. Female-founded startups accounted for just 24.4% of the overall deal count. There's still much room for improvement in achieving gender equality in the startup landscape. ◾ Encouraging Trends: Female-only founded startups experienced a rise in the share of overall VC investment: from 0.9% in 2022 to 1.6% this year. Startups with female and male founders saw growth in deal count (19.1%) and value (17.8%) compared to 2022. ◾ The Power of a Supportive Network: For me, my network plays a crucial role.
