What do effective women's teams' business models look like? Research indicates that when women's teams are affiliated with men's (e.g., BSC YB Frauen), they benefit from the established reputation and a potential knowledge transfer. However, as exemplified by athletes like Breanna Stewart in the WNBA and emerging teams like the London City Lionesses, female athletes are racking a positive reputation of their own. So the question is: at what point are they better off as full and independent teams? Michele Kang is plowing forward with a business model that focuses on fully independent women's teams, complete with dedicated infrastructure, specialized training, and targeted marketing strategies. This approach aims to provide female athletes with the comprehensive support they need to excel and the visibility to showcase their talent on their own terms. As we witness the evolution of the women's soccer ecosystem, it's clear that the landscape is ripe for innovation and empowerment.
