I love old photos like this. They make me want to see the world from their point of view in history. Mary Guthrie flew for the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA) and ferried Spitfires and Hurricanes during WWII. After the war, she was an "air hostess" for British South American Airways. It must've been hard to be humble after being a badass pilot. Mary, you had no fame or fortune back then, but thank you for your service. You are not forgotten... #aviation #aviationindustry #pilot #pilottraining #learn #fly #flight #aviationhistory #spitfire #learning #training #pilotlife #history #wwii #worldwar2 #womeninaviation #airplane #aircraft #thrive #knowledge #knowledgeispower #achickinthecockpit #linkedin #share #thrive

This is leadership!!
"The idea is Mom and Dad love the sailor more than I do," Hill said. "So if I can enlist them to be part of my team, sailors will feel loved and valued."

On World Pilot's Day, read this great article from East Anglian Air Ambulance with our pilot, Captain Steve.
'I would love to land a helicopter on Ed Sheeran’s land - just because he’s a local celebrity.'- Captain Steve To mark International Pilots Day, and to acknowledge all of the brilliant pilots, aviators and engineers who we are proud to work alongside each day, we caught up with Captain Steve Norris, the longest-serving EAAA pilot, who flies Anglia One (Norwich) missions out of Helimed House. "If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing." - Chuck Yeager Chuck Yeager passed away on December 7, 2020. He was a US air force officer and test pilot, becoming the first pilot in history to break the sound barrier in a flight. This quote emphasizes the importance of safety and pragmatism. It encourages us to focus on achieving our goals and objectives while prioritizing safety and avoiding unnecessary risks. It also reminds us that even when things don't go perfectly, we can still achieve success if we are able to move on and learn from our experiences. In conclusion, Chuck Yeager's quote about landings is a powerful reminder of the importance of safety, pragmatism, and excellence in both aviation and life in general.

✨ As a Woman Veteran, This Story Brings Me Joy ✨ (This one's for all the women in service and beyond) I recently came across a story that truly touched my heart and reminded me of the incredible journey we women veterans have undertaken. It's not just about the challenges we've faced, but the resilience, strength, and unity we've shown along the way. 🔹 Celebrating Milestones: Whether it's a promotion, a successful mission, or a personal achievement, each milestone is a testament to our hard work and dedication. 🔹 Building a Support Network: Connecting with fellow veterans has been a source of strength. We've shared stories, offered advice, and celebrated each other's successes. 🔹 Embracing New Opportunities: Post-service life can be a new adventure. From pursuing education to starting new careers, the possibilities are endless. 🔹 Giving Back: Volunteering and mentoring have allowed me to give back to the community and support the next generation of women leaders. This story is a reminder that our journey doesn't end with our service. It continues to evolve, and every step is worth celebrating. 💪 To all my fellow women veterans, what brings you joy? Share your stories and let’s inspire each other. #WomenVeterans #VeteranStories #Resilience #Empowerment #WomenInLeadership #VeteranSupport #PostServiceLife #WomenInService #Community #Inspiration #CelebrateSuccess #Mentorship #Leadership
The first Black female U.S. Air Force pilot — and later United Airlines captain with some 23,000 career flight hours — has retired after 43 years of flying. Pioneering aviator Captain Theresa M. Claiborne landed at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport and marked her retirement after more than three decades with the air carrier. #grateful https://lnkd.in/gBD9RqYY
