Overcoming Challenges in Outdoor Education: Bridging Gaps for Every Child 🌱 Having experienced the challenges of integrating outdoor education in public schools, I understand the importance of addressing these hurdles. Here are three difficulties and three solutions to make outdoor education accessible for all: 1️⃣ **Educational Disparities:** Math and language gaps can be vast. To bridge them, incorporate outdoor learning activities that align with curriculum goals, ensuring a seamless blend of education and nature. 2️⃣ **Economic Barriers:** Outdoor clothing can be a challenge for some families. Establish a community-driven initiative, providing resources like donated gear or collaborating with local businesses for affordable options. 3️⃣ **Priority Misalignment:** When outdoor education isn't a top priority, it's crucial to showcase the social, emotional, and academic benefits. Demonstrate success stories, backed by research, to emphasize the positive impact on holistic child development. Let's create an inclusive outdoor education environment for every child! 🌿📚 #OutdoorEducation #EquityInEducation #ChildDevelopment #CommunityEngagement #EunoiaForestSchool

At Educare, we’re in pursuit of a future where every child, family and community can thrive! Read about how our Network of high-quality early programs is helping to nurture children, what pro-child policies look like, and more in this NYT article by Nick Kristof: https://lnkd.in/gdqHsvYe
Friday morning clarion call made by Nicholas Kristoff in the #newyorktimes today: "We Americans Neglect Our Children." https://lnkd.in/gymniKjM If you have a child in your life, or know someone who does, or you're an American who cares about our country (pick one -- any one -- of these categories), this is for you: "Individually, we adore and pamper our children. We shuttle them from soccer practice to music lessons and then organize their play dates with meticulous fanaticism. Yet collectively, we mistreat America’s children, especially by the standards of other wealthy countries... Children are more likely to go hungry or live in poverty in America than in most of our peer countries..." He goes on to share concrete solutions, one of them being Educare Schools https://lnkd.in/gz9s5cBP. We can, we must get this right. Parents, stand up. Citizens, stand up. "The best metric for a society’s future is how well it nurtures its next generation. So this election year, let’s look beyond the political horse race and culture war to grill candidates on their policies toward children — and thus our country’s future." #StartEarly #familiesfirst #nextgeneration #birthtofive #earlychildhood #earlychildhooddevelopment

From the archives... I couldn’t agree more with Kerry McDonald on this, “We need less government involvement in education, not more.” Many other great points in this article like the failure of existing expenditures to produce quantifiable gains in student achievement. The most devastating part is the impact on families as the government gets ahold of our children’s minds earlier, for longer periods of time, and later. The American Families Plan is detrimental to families, not supportive of them. #HomeEducation #homeschool #homeschooling #education #GetOutNow #PublicSchoolExit #ChristianEducation #EdcuationIsDiscipleship #ChristianHomeschoolRevolution Disclaimer: Sharing of this content does not constitute an endorsement of any specific content by the author/original poster, quoted/cited individual, website, or affiliated organization(s). https://lnkd.in/gz4xa5G

From the archives... This 2018 article appears prophetic in the light of new government education recommendations. Apparently, four years old is not early enough for the government to take control of children’s minds. To answer the title question of this article, teachers are raising children because parents abdicated that responsibility slowly over the course of more than 100 years. Perhaps in most cases, this was done with the best of intentions, but we all know how those can be fraught with unintended consequences. On the point that parents are treated as inept, a quote by R. J. Rushdoony will suffice, “To assume the right and need of the state to provide for its citizens is to assume the basic incompetence of man” (The Messianic Character of American Education, 1963, p. 324). #HomeEducation #homeschool #homeschooling #education #GetOutNow #PublicSchoolExit #ChristianEducation #EdcuationIsDiscipleship #ChristianHomeschoolRevolution Annie Holmquist https://lnkd.in/g3jwB53n

Montessori's philosophy on peace education is of great importance in our current world. Her philosophy prioritises self-respect, respect for others, and respect for the environment. These principles offer valuable guidance in addressing issues such as climate change, social inequality, sustainability, and global conflicts, and fostering a more peaceful and united society. Educators who respect a child's individual identity promote the authentic and holistic development of the child. This approach fosters self-awareness and confidence in the child, which are essential for their overall growth and development. By acknowledging and celebrating a child's unique identity, educators can create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages children to express themselves freely and learn from each other's differences. https://lnkd.in/e9-yR4ia https://lnkd.in/eTeaYU-H #montessorieducation #montessori #peaceeducation #sustainability #socialjustice #childcentred #respect #childdevelopment #childrensmentalhealth #alternativeeducation

My latest newsletter highlights the differences between the two education agendas. One invests in children, teachers, and public schools and the other is about "organized abandonment."
