#QA and #automation friends! I have a question for you! A friend of mine (Brian Bridges) is looking to learn test automation! He knows programming basics, but has stuck with manual testing for most of his career. He's looking to learn how to start writing automated tests! Do any of y'all have a good place he can go for learning resources for someone just starting to learn automation? #TestAutomation #testing

My usual afternoon tea and looking at job posting to criticize them. Anyone else feels a bit iffy with this? This posting suggests that "manual" testing is put on the same bucket with trivial activities. As automation in testing enthusiast, this is exactly what i DON'T want to do. Any tester out there who does not want to code, i am NOT out there to make you redundant! I want to HELP you get more efficient in your work. I ask YOU to help me make better tests, give me feedback on my work and help me help you. I am not out there to get you. I work FOR YOU. YOU are better at testing than me. Every time. I can code, which i feel limits my view in the world of testing on some areas. Let's create better testing together. Without YOU there is no ME. P.S I feel sorry for each member in this test team. P.P.S doesn't the rest of the points here belong to testing? #softwaretesting #testautomation should be called #automationtesting

From Manual to Automation Testing The professional enhancement journey of one of our testers - Vlad Stegaru. It’s been more than 6 years since I’ve taken my very first step into the software testing field. Having no previous experience with programming languages, algorithms, and basically an IT mindset, I’ve seen the light at the end of the professional tunnel - Manual testing being the most accessible path into this journey. Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/eNqkwnJn Open Questions As technology keeps advancing and AI becomes increasingly dominant, I'm curious about what the future of software testing will look like in the next decade. How can we, as testers, stay valuable in a more automated world? I invite you to think about this and share your thoughts. How are you preparing for the changes in IT, and what are you doing to keep growing professionally? How do you remain a valuable and indispensable asset in the IT market and within your organization? #technologypartner #technologycompany #technologycareers #lifeatYonder #futureoftesting #testautomation #customerdriven #greatplacetowork #customerfocus Vlad Stegaru

The ART of Testing 7 •Manual testing vs. Automation Testing 3-3 •If the world trends and software quality perceptions continue like this, Testers who have strong critical thinking skills and who are good at finding problems that matter have a hard time finding jobs. •Testers with only modest programming skills and questionable analytical skills get hired instead, and spend months writing programs that get the machine to press its own buttons. •The goal becomes making the automated checks run smoothly, rather than finding problems that matter to people. •Difficulties in getting the machine to operate the product take time away from interaction with and observation of the product. As a result, we get products that may or may not be thoroughly checked, but that have problems that diminish or even destroy value. •Whether “manual testing” has a future? •“Manual testing” has no future. It doesn’t have a past or a present, either. That’s because there is no manual testing. There is testing. •Instead of “learn to program” or “learn Selenium”, how about we study how to model and analyse risk? More focus on systems thinking? #testing #artoftesting #QA #qualityassurance #manualtesting #automationtesting
