i share this with my students when we discuss leadership (not investment). Warren Buffett shares important lessons in the video. but, what is important to notice from this video is Warren's investment in relationships. he shares stories about many people by NAME and really knows details about each of them. this is success...Relationships. #leadership #networking

Leadership and Organizational Development Expert | I help individuals and organizations holistically understand the leadership process and how to operate optimally and maximize their output | Author | Consultant |Speaker
Saturday edition of Word of Advice: ABD (All But Dissertation) is not a designation. It is a status that indicates you completed all coursework and any necessary examinations in a doctorate program. It also signifies the transition from student to candidate status. However, the letters ABD do not belong behind your name. It's equivalent to saying you are John/Jane Doe, High School Senior. While I encourage everyone to celebrate the milestones and victories, let's make sure as academics we're acting accordingly. I have seen this error several times and thought I would help someone out. Be well! #scholarship #leadership #leadershipexpert #leadershipeffectiveness #doctoraljourney #education

As I close one chapter and move into the next, I am delighted to have finished the Executive Certificate in Strategic Leadership program at Liberty University. There is no substitution for high quality education afforded to curious and growing minds. I am a proud LU alum of two graduate programs, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. This program is 21 credits of Doctoral level studies within Business Management and Leadership embedded within the Doctorate in Strategic Leadership (DSL) program. Although I have been accepted into the DSL program, it’s with great satisfaction I am making a pivot to pursue an academic goal I elected to defer a few years ago because I could not solidify the “why,” just yet. I now see and understand the “why” and what I hope to do with it. (I am very excited to finally take a semester off of school after what seems like 8+ years of straight education in addition to everything else). I will have to save this announcement for when it is much closer! Let’s just say I might be a Tennessee Vol and sing Rocky Top at heart, but I’m willing to see what the Terps are about come January 🙌🏼 Don’t let life get in the way, prioritize, and hustle. Retirement date received today - Light is here. T-Minus 58 days to being a civilian, and a week to being done💥 Let me know if there is anything I can do for you 🤜🏼 Be the Bison 🦬 #goalsetting #leadershipmindset #leadershipdevelopment #professionaldevelopment #professionalgrowth #personaldevelopment #personalgrowth #mindset #mindsetmatters #transitioningmilitary #opentoopportunities #opentowork

Board director and three-time CEO working with universities to advance the next generation of remarkable leaders.
My super smart colleague Suzanne Teer provides excellent advice on presidential transitions. With high turnover at the top, Boards need benefit from bringing great intentionality to the whole process of selection: from considering what is needed in the role, through on-boarding and transition coaching for the selected candidate. Brava, Suzanne! #ImpactfulLeadership
A presidential transition is a time of great excitement, anxiety, and uncertainty for a college campus. As Suzanne Teer points out, it's critical for the institution to take ample time to decide what it wants in a president, before it pursues who it wants. This is probably the most realistic reality of what is occurring and to occur… sadly for all parties involved. Nothing more can done when all warnings have been delivered and ignored. When the whirlwind starts it will not stop until it has exhausted all that started it in the first place. As for soldiers so too for civilians. That is a terrible reality. Policies in their outworking are not simply theoretical. Nor are decisions. Real people are impacted. So all who consider themselves leaders or aspiring leaders and decision makers take heed and learn to be humble and teachable lest you wind up in a situation where the lack of creates the very conditions which expose why should never have been in such positions to begin with. You are being given a grand post graduate level course in reality right now. If you cannot learn from your times your learning from a academic courses and your degrees are utterly useless and in fact even an impediment if you cannot think in real world terms and learn. As for people so too for the nations. Chancellor's Honors Student at the University of Tennessee | Accounting and Analytics | Lifelong Learner
Yes! Strengths-based leadership calls out the best that everyone can bring to the table. Mine: Learner, Intellection, Relator, Deliberative, and Analytical
I am honored to be a part of “Leading With Strengths,” the latest series from Clifton Strengths. I joined Gallup CEO Jon Clifton to talk about how leveraging my strengths has made an impact on my life and the impact it’s making for our students. Every Volunteer takes a strengths assessment when they get to campus, allowing us to develop strategies for success and a shared language to understand one another. Every student on our campus—and many of our faculty and staff—can tell you their Top 5 strengths. (Mine are Strategic, Achiever, Positivity, Futuristic and Maximizer.) I’m proud that UT Knoxville is a leader in strengths-based education and bringing this tool to our campus community. You can watch a clip of the interview here:

Harvard-Educated Historian of Science | Social Entrepreneur | Nonprofit Development & Advancement Expert | Aspiring American Academy of Arts and Sciences President
🔥 Unapologetic Ambition: My Roadmap to Leading the American Academy of Arts and Sciences Hey Visionaries! Dreaming big is easy; chasing those dreams is the hustle. So here’s my raw, unfiltered ambition: I aim to be the president of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Yeah, you heard it. 🎯 Why the Academy? This powerhouse nonprofit has evolved over the centuries (yes, we're talking eighteenth, nineteenth, and now twenty-first!) to serve the greater good. A beacon of interdisciplinary knowledge, it bridges the gap between the arts, sciences and everything in between. 💪 The Daily Mantra: Goals fade unless they're in your face, daily. I tell myself at least once per day, “You are the president of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.” Daily affirmations? More like daily commitments. 🚀 Unlocking Potential, Inspiring Success: The Academy needs someone who can continue to shift paradigms and innovate. Having founded Nero Strategies, where we specialize in unlocking potential, my vision aligns seamlessly with the Academy’s ethos. ✨ Public Good Reimagined: A true leader knows how to adapt and pivot for the greater good. Through my work in DEI initiatives and strategic visioning, I see endless possibilities for the Academy to become a leader in social impact. Call me audacious, but audacity is the first step towards transformation. So, what are your audacious goals? 🔍 #AndreaNeroPhD #UnapologeticAmbition #NeroStrategies #AmericanAcademy #ArtsAndSciences #NonprofitLeadership #StrategicVisioning #PublicGood #EighteenthCentury #NineteenthCentury #TwentyFirstCentury #Interdisciplinary #UnlockingPotential #DailyMantras #GoalSetting #DEI #InnovationLeadership #SocialImpact #AudacityInLeadership #StrategicPlanning #VisionaryGoals #PublicService #ArtAndScienceIntegration #HistoricalEvolution #DailyCommitment #InspirationalLeadership #FutureLeaders #InclusiveExcellence #EdgyThoughtLeadership #nuclear https://www.amacad.org/
