Does one entrepreneurial ecosystem fit all regions? In our new article (together with Erik Stam and Niels Bosma) in Regional Studies we look at which combinations of ecosystem elements enable productive entrepreneurship. We find that a range of ecosystem configurations produce high entrepreneurship outputs. However, regions with a fully developed ecosystem show the highest amount of entrepreneurship. A holistic approach building on regional strengths is therefore the best way to develop a stronger entrepreneurial economy. The article is available open access at: https://lnkd.in/dECEWhWT

As part of our Inclusive Entrepreneurship Initiative, Adele Loomis '23, Ray Lu '23, Katie MacFarlane '23, and Daniella Young, MBA '23 worked with Guava, a digital banking and networking platform designed by and for Black small business owners, founded by Kelly Ifill '17. --- The objective of the Inclusive Entrepreneurship Initiative is to create venture ecosystems within local communities through bridging social, digital, and economic divides. Community partners and students work together to develop feasibility studies that engage Columbia Business School with the local community. MBA/EMBA students work on these collaborative projects supervised by Professor Dan Wang.
