📖 It was truly a pleasure to receive an advanced copy of Speed & Scale, signed by John Doerr himself, for Climate Tech VC's most recent feature! 👊🏼 Our team had the chance to discuss the complexities of the climate crisis with coauthor Ryan Panchadsaram, and following the conversation, I feel empowered and encouraged for the future success of climate solutions John and Ryan apply a pragmatic, entrepreneurial approach to achieving the widely agreed upon goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050 through the use of "Objectives and Key Results" (OKRs). Learn more about the Objectives and Key Results outlined in Speed & Scale in this week's Climate Tech VC feature!

📚 With spiral bound, advanced copies of Speed & Scale in hand, the CTVC team set out to uncover the hype around John Doerr and Ryan Panchadsaram's newest book which provides an action plan to solving the #climatecrisis 🌏 Utilizing "Objectives and Key Results" (OKRs), a concept which John Doerr is widely known for introducing and emphasizing, Speed and Scale approaches the goal of net zero emissions by 2050 by asking two questions: What are the objectives? And how do we accomplish them? 6️⃣ Speed and Scale emphasizes 6 objectives that will contribute reductions to the yearly 59 gigatons of carbon emissions 🚗 Electrify Transportation 💡 Decarbonize the grid 🐄 Fix food 🌱 Protect nature 🧱 Clean up industry 🧹 Remove carbon 🎙️ After speaking with an infectiously energetic and optimistic Ryan Panchadsaram, we learned what makes Speed and Scale stand out from other climate solutions books, which of the 55 "Key Results" will be hardest to accomplish, and how to press forward in our ongoing efforts to mitigate climate change 🗨️ "Each ton of emissions represents someone else's business which means someone on the other side is fighting to keep those emissions alive. There will be winners and losers, but if we do our part really well as founders, policymakers, activists, and investors, we will win." - Ryan Panchadsaram
