This is my biggest accomplishment! Over a decade ago I had this “crazy” idea to print under the microscope images of cancer on luxury fabrics. I wanted -what I called haunting beauty- to spark conversations about early cancer detection. I was so passionate. At the time I was a cancer researcher about to hear the news of my husband’s, Jeremy Picker’s, stage 3 cancer diagnosis. A few years later I left my corporate job to get this mission focused venture off the ground. A crowdfunding campaign, so friends, funded ÉSTAINE’s first product. We formed partnerships with key non-profits fighting cancer, we supported fundraisers, we were pumped to make a difference. We were on local news, on Bloomberg news, talking to The Wharton School, Vogue and Oprah magazines. But it was hard. A self funded social impact business, only scratching the surface of making an impact, and far from making sales to pave way for next steps. In midst of this, Jeremy was finally in remission! And we had two beautiful kids. Entrepreneurial spirit was high, but life focused on other wins. ÉSTAINE stayed alive in the background, making small in-kind product donations to support the fight on cancer, the reason it all started. I kept dreaming. Another Breastcancer awareness month and I am so excited to say that ÉSTAINE is still striving to spark the difficult conversations around the importance of screening and early detection. If I can help save one life, founding ÉSTAINE remains my biggest accomplishment. Do good. Do well. Marketing Leader | Expert at Problem-Solving and Getting Stuff Done | AI-Powered Marketing | Relationship-Builder
I went to a fundraiser last night at Merrimack College with a few good friends (my brothers Alma matter Jon Goode). …but the fundraiser was to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer - something that has affected all of us. But in addition to that good we did there, I found myself at a table with an eager group of young men and women who were interested in my job and career… and left them with two critical pieces of advice. 1. NETWORK: Even if they are working at a Starbucks or in a daycare, never burn a bridge and nurture those relationships with people. You never know who your next connection or boss could be. 2. LEARN: Never stop learning, and right now, learn more about AI and how it can be used as a force for good. The next gen that becomes SMEs in AI and specialized AI use cases will be the talent we hire next!! Have a great day! 💕

New project seeks to guide AI use in treating neurodegenerative illnesses The 10,000 Brains Project is a new non-profit collaborative aiming to expedite the use of AI in combating neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. This Oakland-based initiative is pairing up major organizations to provide leadership, expertise, and funding to integrate AI into research for advanced diagnostics and treatments. The partnership involves the Milken Institute, the Rainwater Charitable Foundation, and the Robertson Foundation. The first task is to create a 'roadmap' for worldwide researchers to adopt AI in their work, with a focus on precision medicine. While the complexities of neurodegenerative diseases remain a challenge, AI offers a promising avenue for progress. Q: Why do TFRI-funded researchers wear purple for the Terry Fox Run? ⤵ A: By ensuring that TFRI-funded researchers are clearly visible, purple shirts serve as a reminder that the Marathon of Hope continues as we work toward making Terry's dream of ending cancer through research a reality. If you haven't purchased your 2023 Purple Terry Fox Run T-shirt designed in collaboration with Ryan Reynolds and the Fox Family, you can do so at https://lnkd.in/gr5eZRpc. To register your research team for the 2023 Terry Fox Run and join the challenge, please have one of your team members visit the team sign up page on The Terry Fox Foundation website and complete the process (https://lnkd.in/ggi_usRe). To help identify TFRI research teams, include “TFRI - " before your team's name. Then, share your team’s name with potential team members, and ask them to register, join and start fundraising! SERVICE is one of the fundamental values of The Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines service as “contribution to the welfare of others” and “to repair or provide maintenance.” Our service is contributing an affordable cancer-killing technology to the world: Laser-Activated Nano-Therapy (LANT), which was developed by our founder, Dr. Hadiyah Green. LANT completely eliminates tumors in laboratory mice after one 10-minute treatment in just 15 days, without observable side effects, surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. Limited by funding, not technological advancements, we are ready to move LANT beyond the laboratory and into humans with your tax-deductible donations. When you support The Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation, you help ensure our service comes to life by helping to fund human clinical trials, making this tech affordable for all. Our inboxes are filled with cancer patients who need our help, yet our hands are tied until we raise enough funds to conduct official human clinical trials. 💜 Every $1 counts! 🙏🏾Join our journey 👉🏾Donate: OraLee.org 👉🏾Text ORA to 71777 👉🏾CashApp/Venmo -- OraLeeFoundation 👉🏾Donate your birthday on Facebook #service #oralee #drhadiyahgreen #cancersucks #cancerawareness #breastcancerawareness #cancerresearch #tech #supportblackcharities #supportblackownedbusinesses #girlboss #stem #science #blackgirlsrock #blackentrepreneurs #blackexcellence #blackownedbusiness #blackowned #blackbusiness #blackentrepreneurs #blackgirlmagic #blacklivesmatter #buyblack #supportblackbusiness

Hi, everyone! 🖐 I have read an interesting article 💡 "AI model can help determine where a patient’s cancer arose" 💉 The National Institutes of Health, the Louis B. Mayer Foundation, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Phi Beta Psi Sorority, and the Emerson Collective funded the research. Now this topic is very relevant and requires as much research as possible. Hopefully, AI will be able to help solve this soon.
