This week, I joined seven EU tech success stories in #Berlin to meet with 🇩🇪German officials. Together, we presented the vision of EU tech companies for 🇪🇺 2030 and discussed how to unlock EU tech’s potential both within Europe and globally.
Main takeaways:
🏆 Developing a #strategy for EU tech: It’s time for the EU to #boost #European #tech, particularly scale-ups, to grow and innovate.
🎯 Ensuring rigorous rule enforcement: EU policymakers must resist the temptation to address enforcement gaps by hastily introducing new regulations. Rather, their focus should be on strengthening existing enforcement mechanisms.
🧩 Coherent EU regulatory landscape: Make laws fit like puzzle pieces. European, national, and regional measures should complement each other, not clash or duplicate efforts.
📊 Guaranteeing impact assessment: We emphasised the importance of conducting thorough impact assessments to understand the implications of regulatory measures on the market, particularly for EU tech firms.
🤝 Fostering Enhanced #Cooperation: We advocated for improved coordination among national authorities. It would support innovation and limit EU fragmentation.
Vielen Dank an unsere Gastgeber Jens Zimmermann, Reinhard Brandl, Maik Außendorf and State Secretaries Jörg Kukies, Stefan Schnorr and Heiko Thoms as well as to Malte Engeler and their colleagues and teams for an open exchange about the future of EU digital policies and the #EUTA #Vision2030.
