💡Find out how we've prodived a guidance on Transforming indie developer dreams into funding realities! Indieway December 2023 was wonderful. It was a great honor to meet all those attended and those followed us on their home screens. As we are preparing a short video series from the presentation, I must say being there in that atmoshphere was something else. ✨ We discussed how everything really starts with believing yourself and pillars of your pitch deck. Investers are interested in your product, yes, but investments actually goes to the team and the product together. ''As your product moves through the road map you have created, you will be the one taking care of it as if it goes off the track, swings by pitstops, or stops.'' 🎮 That being said, energetic and passionate team members, a road map to build one, creating a vision and IP around a focused product(s) are all equally important. Instead of targeting big games with small unique selling points, hitting those small but growing sub-genres with a bigger USP will be more welcomed on investment side. Creating products around the vision with USPs, you should pay attention to UX oriented design and clear game loop. All the pillars I talked about are connected to each other, and weakest link actually causes a collapse on your idea, eventually kills the interest on the investors side. 💪 More importantly, how are you planning to make this big, I mean very BIG. BIG Enough to create a potential exit. If the idea is not going to get big enough for an exit, it may not be good investment. This doesnt mean it wont be a successful product, it just may not attract investors. Last but not least, ''Investors are on the same side with the developers, they are not a end level challenge or a boss to beat. We must understand that they are ALSO working on business side to raise more capital for the video game industry in the background'' Thank you for this opportunity, and I see you in another event! Cheers! Indieway Ludus Ventures Istanbul Bilgi University #videogames #gamedevelopment

Among 2000+ GameFi projects, only 3% games have managed to attract and engage users. Amidst these, STEPN by Find Satoshi Lab garnered over 5 million registered users and 1 Million actively engaged users on its app. We have invited Shiti Rastogi Manghani, COO of StepN, who has overseen its marketing and operations and she will be mentoring selected startups in our upcoming acceleration program on 👉 User-centered design principles in Web3 product development 👉 Strategies for creating intuitive and engaging user interfaces StepN, the Move to Earn based startup, attracted users by monetizing their activity on the basis of their workout powered by a rich UI enabled product and influenced people’s lives by making fitness a part of their daily life. While maximum projects were struggling to onboard and retain users, with little engagement on their platforms, StepN reached its peak and became one of the top GameFi projects on Solana and managed to achieve a Unicorn status. What happened to WarLab Studio? Is the S.U.N Alone Game delayed or fully abandoned? Will we get a chance to play the demo? 🤔 These are questions that I get a lot these days... (Story) So, here's what ACTUALLY happened: As planned, we have developed a vertical slice and reached out to a game publisher. Each meeting with the publisher brought new challenges to our team, to the point where their requests became totally ridiculous. 📣 For our vertical slice, we have created a special level that showcases all the major game systems working together, as well as art style as a bonus, a real vertical slice to go nicely alongside Pitch Deck. But this was not up to publisher standards, they used the same terminology and asked for a vertical slice but what they asked for wasn't even near a vertical slice, they asked for a fully polished part of the game! And in the end, we got only 2 weeks to finish it... If we had that kind of 'vertical slice' finished, why would we even need a publisher? There are many other options to choose from. 🤦♂️ So, that's what happened! We declined to put even more pressure on our team, to not make our colleagues work 15 hrs every day only because of someone else's unrealistic desires. We are not someone else's Mercenaries!🍏 Right now, most of our people are taking a break until we secure funding for such a long project. The rest of us are currently working on a smaller project. At the same time, our board of directors is discussing other options such as finding another less strict publisher, getting VC Investment and/or partnering with another studio. If you would like to get in touch, just DM me directly. 💼 WarLab Studio is still alive, we are just working quietly for the time being. 🥷 S.U.N Alone is officially paused, but it is not a dead project! (It is just a matter of time before we get back to it) See you soon 'S.U.N Alone'! 👋 🕹 #gamedev #developerlife #startupjourney #startuplessons

As the saying goes, you miss all the shots you don’t take, so we took one. In early May we were very early in our startup journey. Development had started on an initial product, and we were in the process of legal company setup, but it was still super early. Regardless, we put together a pitch deck and submitted for a long-shot opportunity. Studio Foundations applied to the summer 2024 cohort of A16Z GAMES SPEEDRUN, which is an accelerator program where Tech x Games intersect for companies to receive some funding, mentorship, and be part of a great community. Our proposal got through the initial screening, and we got an interview with the SPEEDRUN team where we answered a ton of questions about why we’re targeting the problem(s) we are to solve, what makes us the right people to solve them, what our competition looks like, the size of the market opportunity, and other excellent questions. Though had great answers, we ultimately didn’t get in, we were a finalist, got THIS close, and got something very valuable… …feedback on our business from experts in the games investments space. So why didn’t we get in? It’s still too early for our business, which was the risk we knew was there when we applied. Critical things in-flight that address that are: - finishing development on MVP of our first product/service - lining up a few design partners for feedback & iteration - getting customer validation We’re close on all of them, so work continues. Applying for SPEEDRUN was a great experience and continues to prove out the validity of our approach and goals. #buildinpublic #gamedev

SPEEDRUN 2024. $75M a year to invest into best and earliest founders building in games x tech. Growing up in NYC, I had literally zero idea about how to get into video games; I didn't even think it was a real career. So that's why I'm excited to build SPEEDRUN, our accelerator for games x tech. Working on games should be way more accessible; any talented builder should get funding to build the game of their dreams. And more people should know about what it's like to work in video games. SO SPEEDRUN: 🔹 $500K investment 🔹 SF Bay area 🔹 IRL kickoff, speakers, community events 🔹 Invite-only Demo Day @GDC SPEEDRUN DATES 📆 9/30 Deadline 🎙️ 10/15 Last Interview Day 🏁 1/22-3/29 SPEEDRUN 10-wk program.
