A tale of two cities I have been seeing a downward revenue trend with many of the restaurants I talk to. To make sense of what is going on, I did a little bit of research on the bar and restaurant spending. In short, total bar and restaurant spending is stable year-over-year if not higher. According to National Restaurant Association, households making $100k and above represent 60% of the total spending despite representing 1/3 of the population. As we are in an economic downturn already seeing a decrease in discretionary spending, here are a few tips on expanding your market reach and positioning your bar and restaurant in the best light possible for the storm.
