Only 4.4% of Black women are in management positions and only 1.4% hold C-suite positions, despite being 7.4% of the U.S. population. Black women are MAKING MOVES, building billion-dollar businesses and rising to top leadership positions. Yet the truth remains that Black women are STILL vastly underrepresented in leadership positions due to the continued biases & barriers. Here are a handful allyship steps to help foster Black women towards equity, inclusion and representation in leadership positions: 1. Help Black women feel seen and safe 2. Center Black women 3. Be transparent about pay and benefit structures 4. Offer authentic mentorship 5.
