Electrification isn’t the only way to decarbonize transportation and logistics, but the path your company chooses to take will depend on these factors.

Words into action.  Energy into connections that matter.  This is what happens when Shell and DHL partner together, and it was a real pleasure to meet with DHL’s Group CEO Dr Tobias Meyer last week.   Our companies have worked together for many years. It's great to know that what Tobias and I have been discussing has had real impact throughout DHL - and our – business: ✈️ establishing supply of sustainable aviation fuel  🚚 electric vehicle charging for light and heavy duty fleets  🚛 bio-LNG and hydrogen to help reduce emissions from heavy duty vehicles   🏭 supporting the transformation of Shell’s Energy & Chemical Parks.     And as we have worked together we’ve built a shared view that building sustainable supply chains – ones that help move the world to net-zero emissions – needs business and governments to work effectively together. Infrastructure must be built at the right time and scale, built in line with demand, and of course, make commercial sense. We also agree that working collaboratively, end-to-end across the value chain, is a must.     Supply chain infrastructure is critical in every aspect of our respective businesses to ensure we’re delivering value and playing our part in helping to reduce the carbon emissions of the transport and logistics sector.  Our passion at Shell is our customers, and we serve them through a careful focus on performance, discipline and simplification.  It’s great to be on this journey with DHL. When I joined Huibert Vigeveno and Tobias Meyer for a discussion on the progress made on the Shell-DHL relationship, it was clear that supply chains will continue to play a critical role to decarbonise transport and logistics. Supply chains for our projects - for example those to build new capacity in biofuels, biogas or hydrogen, but also supply chains for the feedstock of these fuels.
