"Many years wiser, Megan Thee Stallion is not the Southern sweetheart who entered the music. She is an award-winning, critically acclaimed artist who has finally released Megan, her third solo album, which feels more like a debut, even though she is currently performing her whole body of work on the Hot Girl Summer Tour, where hit songs, like “Thot Shit”, “Plan B” and “Big Ole Freak” blast from the rafters of arenas. Megan is the culmination of all that came before it and all that is to come. Because there’s no longer Tina Snow to protect Megan. Or Hot Girl Meg to turn up. It’s just Megan, and that should scare you…or her opps at least." For my Autostraddle.com debut, I reviewed #MEGAN, Megan Thee Stallion's latest album. #MeganTheeStallion #TheeStallion #music #hiphop #rap #musicjournalism https://lnkd.in/gbKF2Ut5

It's officially #BlackMusicMonth and I have yet to find an editorial home for my pieces on the Black history of #country and #blues. Does anyone know of any editors and/or publications who would be interested in this?
Hey friends! I have a #journorequest for you. As of late, I have received a number of requests to visit Bristol, Virginia (the home of #countrymusic) and Vicksburg, Mississippi (a pivotal stop on the chitlin’ circuit and a crucial place in the history of #blues, #country, #jazz, and #rock). Next month is #BlackMusicMonth and I would love to find an editorial home for these two stories. They speak to a part of #Black history and #BlackMusic history that is often overlooked and forgotten. So, if you are an editor or know one who would be interested in stories like this, would you let me know? Thank you in advance.

Yesterday afternoon, Deadline Hollywood reported that Bravo has paused Summer House: Martha's Vineyard. Since its inception, the all-Black Summer House spin-off has experienced an unique series of challenges, being the only all-Black non-Housewives millennials show on the network. I reported on these challenges for Essence Communications Inc. What I learned from weeks of interviews with Black executives at Bravo and Truly Original is how hard they worked to bring a show, like Martha's Vineyard, to light. I do hope the pause is not permanent, and #SummerHouseMV is brought back to life. "Time is what Black reality tv shows and Black talent on reality tv shows need. The opportunity to grow into themselves, to establish and foster relationships with the audiences, and for fans to feel safe to invest in their stories without fear of cancellation." https://lnkd.in/gu5wZr8m #summerhouse #bravo #bravotv #realitytv #Blacktv

It feels so good to start making my way into the country and western journalism space. I look forward to writing more, hopefully some interviews, profiles, and features about all things #country and #western. https://lnkd.in/gpNZvcRd
