✨It’s that time of year again….results from our 4th review of ESG practices in the UK fiduciary management market is now out! Along with increased public scrutiny and regulatory pressure around the robustness of climate plans, we’ve seen the first climate reporting fine issued, and the release of guidance frameworks for nature, social factors and Transition Plans. 🔥 🌍 🌳 Nature and climate are intricately linked, and it has been positive to see an increased focus by several fiduciary managers on developing their approach to nature and biodiversity. A big thank you to our respondents this year. Want to know more? Amazing work by our EY sustainability colleagues on analyzing 50 #TNFD reports across various financial institutions! Hopefully UK pensions will pick up the pace on their biodiversity thinking and be included amongst these institutions in the near future. If you are curious about how UK pensions can get serious about biodiversity and natural capital🌳, get in touch. You can read the full report here 👇 https://lnkd.in/eNgnwB8x P.S. Hopefully the UK pensions industry catches up soon and we'll see the addition of a pensions category alongside banking and capital markets, insurance, wealth and asset management, and private equity. #biodiversity #naturalcapital #ukpensions #pensionschemes #tcfd #tnfd #climate #naturereporting Ruth Bryson
🌱 Now that the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) has finalized its recommendations, we’ve analyzed a sample of 50 global financial institutions to assess progress. The recommendations aim to facilitate firms to make nature-related external disclosures, and they represent a significant milestone in the journey toward greater awareness and action in the financial sector when it comes to integrating nature-related risks and opportunities into decision-making. Interestingly, we found that 62% of institutions are reporting stronger disclosures against TNFD recommendations already. However, there is some concern that the quality of the data isn’t always as good as it could be, and there is limited reporting on a number of nature-related metrics. In a recent piece I wrote with my colleague Khadija Ali, we look at the challenges financial firms face when they are reporting, and we underline some key strategies to better align with the TNFD recommendations. Check out the full article for a more in-depth analysis. https://lnkd.in/dbahJzQE #Sustainability #TNFD #EYFinancialServices
