This is a very good example of the disconnect with Toxicity testing for consumers. Adding labels telling the consumer to “wash” the product isn’t providing guidance to the public, when the actual TOXIN is IN the product itself. This shows the labelling doesn’t reflect the harms. The realistic approach would be ban the toxic chemicals themselves and let people eat safely in the first place.

A new European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) report reveals that 41% of European fruit and vegetables contain #pesticide residues. In more than half of these cases, consumers are exposed to several pesticide residues at the same time. Cocktail effects are still not taken into account by regulators, while science continues to warn of the obvious risks to human health of such combined exposure. https://lnkd.in/ea_ciSMe
