I have been observing a trend amongst LinkedIn influencers that thrives on bashing employers and issuing statements such as: "When your boss tells you I trust you and I'm counting on you, tell them you need 30% of the company and then see what happens" And then you see a streak of "comments" on that post, where many people take turns to reinforce the employer's bashing in different shapes and forms. While I understand that the world of social media is filled with nonsense, sometimes I feel the temptation to reply to one of those influencers and to bring some level of reality to their fictitious world. Instead, I have decided to be positive, and state some facts about founders/employers and what goes on in their minds: -Some employers suffer from chronic insomnia because they worry about everyone and everything in their business. -Some employers have the responsibility and the accountability to keep the lights on, and they usually carry that weight independently. -Some employers have spent the first 2 to 3 years of their journey in their own business without getting a salary for themselves, let alone the benefits. -Some employers want to succeed because they would like their team to succeed with them. -Some employers spend the majority of their time thinking about the growth and development of their teams, even when they fully know that sometimes that team member is going to end up leaving them for a bigger multinational -Some employers mainly and primarily care about the happiness of every member of their team...

I think I know one Tarek Mounir ;)
Well said Tarek Mounir. Very thoughtful post 🙏🏼🙏🏼
So true Tarek - have got the T-shirt! xo
So true. The "employer bashing" trend can be disheartening. Focusing on the challenges founders face, like sleepless nights and team member turnover, creates a more balanced perspective.
