Now, let’s dive into the top five Qatari companies with the highest EY as of June 20, 2024. Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQK) stands out with the highest EY at 19%, driven by significant growth in its Earnings per Share (EPS). As of March 31, 2024, EPS was QAR 0.20, up from QAR 0.14 in the same period in 2023.This substantial increase showcases the bank's robust financial health and profitable operations. Ranking second, DOHA BANK (DHBK) maintains a strong EY at 18% with steady EPS figures. As of March 31, 2024, EPS was QAR 0.07, consistent with the previous year. This stability indicates consistent performance and reliable returns for investors. Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMD) follows with an EY of 13%, bolstered by its strategic initiatives. This includes plans to establish a modern factory for industrial and table salt production. This $290 million project involves local and international partners, promising significant future growth. QNB Group (QNBK) and GWC | Official (GWCS) both demonstrate solid profitability with an EY of 12%, rounding out the top five. Investing in these companies can provide substantial returns, making them attractive options for savvy investors. I had the privilege to be a panelist alongside Barbara Riccardi, Yogesh Mehta ( Yogi ) and Farah Aljouni during the workshop on "Trade Facilitation: Risks and Opportunities for Global Trade" organized by Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI) moderated by Majed Abdulkarim Julfar on 26 February 2024, in the framework of the World Trade Organization’s 13th Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi.
