Yesterday's experience was a powerful reminder of positivity's transformative power in #leadership. I had the privilege of facilitating a new leader assimilation session with a global team, including six division managers, their overarching leader, the CFO, and the CHRO. The session was impactful. It wove personal stories with leadership insights, blending life outside work with their professional roles. Sharing personal photos and visions for the team, we saw the #human side of each leader. The new leader shared his approach to guiding the team, setting a tone of openness and collaboration. The result? It was a reminder that when leaders share not just their plans but their journeys, it fosters a sense of #unity. This positivity is contagious. It flows from the leadership down to every team member within the divisions, creating an environment where collaboration is not just a goal but a natural outcome. 15 leaders, 7 different nationalities. Had an amazing day with an amazing leadership team in France, and struck by the power of collaboration. For the past six months, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with a remarkable leadership team—15 leaders from seven different nationalities, all uniting for the first time to drive a new business unit through a massive transformation. The diversity in this team is not just in their nationalities but also in their ideas, approaches, and experiences, which has made our work together incredibly rewarding. What great people. What great conversations. We’ve shared so many beautiful conversations, each one a step towards building stronger connections and fostering a deeper understanding of each other’s strengths and visions. Our journey has been about more than just achieving business goals; it’s been about creating a cohesive team that thrives on trust and accountability. We’ve been breaking boundaries in trust-building, enhancing accountability, and aligning on the ambitious goals they have for their business. Each session brings new insights and breakthroughs, making every moment spent together valuable and inspiring. Seeing them grow more aligned and united in their purpose is immensely fulfilling. This work feeds my soul. There’s something incredibly satisfying about facilitating this kind of transformation, seeing people come together, support one another, and push forward with renewed clarity and commitment. And being in a beautiful town like this only adds to the charm. These surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for reflection and inspiration, making every day feel like a blend of professional growth and personal rejuvenation. This post is for every Founder, CEO, or Leader working as a torchbearer to their team. I know you often find yourself motivating them while feeling lonely in that space. Back when I was working as a leader, there were times when I felt I was not enough to solve the challenges for my team. During those times what kept me going was circling back to my team. In fact, I actually made it a ritual of asking and providing support to each other as a team on a regular basis. This ensured we were never drained and always supported. It’s one of the spaces I loved as a leader. It helped me connect to my people, join the pool of innovative ideas and walk as a team. Today, when I coach leaders, I share these 3 lessons I learned as a leader: → Being a leader doesn’t mean you have to solve every challenge single-handedly. Including yourself as a part of the team and working together with the team members help bring better results. → Work as a facilitator to help your team grow by creating a space for them to share their perspectives confidently. → Show your vulnerable side to them and accept their vulnerabilities too.
