There are so many reasons why I am excited for this role with the New York Mortgage Bankers Association (NYMBA). One of the biggest reasons is #AI. How will AI affect the mortgage industry over the next 5 years? Will we see a reduction in origination costs and a reduction in processing and underwriting times? Will we leverage AI to provide greater access to mortgage financing in underserved areas? How will we balance the benefits of AI with fair housing concerns? Will we leverage AI to bring increased security to the mortgage process and reduce incidents of financial fraud? The last 6 months of my life looked like a Transatlantic crisscross, hopping from my home and clients in New York, to Colorado and California, to clients in Europe, and then to my native land of Ireland. Jetlag aside, I not only enjoy the variety of this schedule but thrive in it due to the constant perspective shift it (and being a dual citizen) affords me. Being in America, you can feel the bravado, boldness, and ingenuity that defines the “American Spirit,” a nod to the very formation of the country—a bunch of pioneers determined to own their destiny. But being in Europe offers a focus on the collective versus the individual, the importance of balance and downtime, and the nuance and willingness to sit with decisions and discomfort – again, a nod to the long history and viewpoint that comes with witnessing the rises and falls of empires, shifting territory lines, and more. People often ask me which I prefer. My answer is that, like most things in life, it’s the combination of the two and the inspiration that the varying approaches afford me, not the differences, that I relish. How are you actively creating space for various perspectives in your life and organization? 30 years ago we lost Senna. In this day of reflection, the key recurring thought I have after all these years continues to be about his struggle to break down the "European/French glass ceiling" within FIA Management in those days, how much he had to fight the "status quo" trying to level the playing field, and how much only his talent alone would not have been enough if he had not done that. This struggle is real in many organizations for many people right now still. 🔷 As an executive, are you sure you are really fostering a real meritocratic organization, where talent alone is truly the only way for promotions/hires? 🔷 Even when the good intentions are there, are you sure your organization is not falling into the "subconscious" trap, and is able to really filter/recognize diverse true talent appropriately? ✴ I have been exposed to European Business ecosystems now for over 20 years. To my surprise, I still see mostly country-based corporate silos everywhere with very little exceptions. Germans hiring Germans, French hiring French, Italians hiring Italians, Dutch hiring Dutch.... It is obviously an exaggeration, but not that far from reality in upper management ladders in Europe. Imagine if Californian tech companies would have only Americans born in California within their high ranks... Needless to say, that is one of the key differentiating strengths of US businesses: it is the closer to a true meritocratic system the world has. European "resource allocation" is simply not optimal and too much "nationalized" still. ▶ Food for thought.

DUOBBRAK is about to lose the "vitality" of patents for a market of 40 million "only" cars due to the economic shortage of the inventor and it will not be possible to do so https://lnkd.in/dMVFw_PR,  DUOBBRAK is successfully patented for USA EUROPE CANADA ITALY and is already a brand released in ITALY which - reduces rare components and materials needed for the transition - reduces stopping distances (to improve road safety given one victim every three hours, I remember that the European Parliament asks to halve them but the opposite happens), - reduces stopping distances even with any fault (given the over 1 million cars recalled for brake problems). - aims to reintroduce the proceeds deriving from the concession of use back into the economic fabric. We also emphasized that yes - reduce extractions that are harmful to the environment - costs per company e - costs for the end user - and also health, social and insurance costs - and waste disposal costs THANKS TO LESS SERIOUS COLLISIONS
