A great course if you are starting out in Neurosurgery.
Limited places remaining! The importance of managing critically ill patients in a neurosurgical unit cannot be over emphasised. The responsibility of looking after these patients and recognising any change in their clinical state is primarily left in the hands of the junior doctors or ANPs on the wards. This course is aimed at ANPs and junior neurosurgical trainees (FY2-ST3) who are not only involved in the care of neurosurgical patients, but at the same time, would be asked for advice by more junior foundation trainees or hospital nurse practitioners. The first day of course will take place at B. Braun Medical Head Office in Sheffield where there will be a series of lectures from our expert faculty. This will then be followed by a day of practical workshop sessions at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. #Pediatrics leading on #healthjustice yet again. “The AAP is among a growing number of medical societies that are systematically reviewing the way race is used in clinical guidelines or algorithms. Some have already replaced race with clinical factors or social determinants of health in their widely used clinical algorithms.” Hands down, I have the best colleagues of all of medicine. JAMA #AI #algorithms #clinicaldecisionsupport #guidelines #evidencebasedmedicine
Superb JAMA news article on the momentum and collective work to address race and clinical algorithms. Highlights the Council of Medical Specialty Societies convening and report done in collaboration with Doris Duke Foundation, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and National Academy of Medicine. Excellent examples of progress to date from our members American Academy of Pediatrics, American Society of Nephrology and American Thoracic Society. Special thanks to Doris Duke Foundation for supporting this critical work. Grateful to Michelle Morse for driving this movement nationally and in NYC.
