I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the Security LeadHER event hosted by ASIS International and the Security Industry Association (SIA) in Phoenix, AZ This enriching experience brought together women from all backgrounds and walks of life, creating an atmosphere of unity and empowerment. From the moment we entered the rooms, there was a palpable sense of camaraderie as we embraced one another, ready to share, learn, and grow together. The keynote speakers were nothing short of inspiring, reminding us of the importance of being bold, remembering our roots, stepping into what’s uncomfortable, and ensuring our voices are heard in every room we enter. They also emphasized that it’s okay to feel awkward—embracing our awkwardness can be a powerful step towards growth and authenticity although it may be a little cringe 😬.Lida Citroën Henna Pryor, PCC Amanda McPherson thank you for your powerful words, reminders and encouragement that women often forget to pack with them day to day. This event was a powerful reminder that as women in all facets of life , including the security industry, we have the strength and capability to drive change and lead with confidence. Let’s continue to support and uplift each other as we step out of the background and into the spotlight where we belong. Can’t wait to see what June 2025 in Detroit, MI holds.
