Utilizing a distributed edge-computing camera network, our method accurately identifies and localizes group formations in a therapeutic setting, covering approximately 1700 m2. ✨ Key Highlights: - Privacy-Centric Approach: Leveraging edge computing to ensure data privacy and security. - Innovative Group Identification: Achieved an impressive F1 score of up to 90% with a mean absolute error of just 1.25 m in group localization. - Real-World Application: Scalable system that can transform any ordinary building into a smart environment, facilitating passive monitoring of patient social behaviors for real-time interventions. 🌈 Impact: This research opens new avenues for enhancing therapeutic units by providing a tool for the passive observation of social interactions, crucial for the mental health of patients. The JLA Advisors team (Jorge Fuenzalida, Robert Napor, Sangit Rawlley) had an incredibly productive three days at the Metro Connect 2024 conference. We engaged in multiple meetings and dynamic discussions encompassing BEAD funding strategies, broadband expansion, the impact of AI on network operators and data centers, and numerous other exciting and timely opportunities.
