I develop strategies to raise money that helps people access medications and live higher qualities of life.
I’ve been mulling over something today—how do we define the essence of truly supporting patients? Embracing a holistic approach to care is necessary. Sure, easing the financial burden plays a huge role in everyday life, but there’s really so much more to it. Comprehensive support is the essence of our commitment at the PAN Foundation. We’re committed to recognizing and addressing the entire spectrum of a patient's needs. It's about acknowledging that every aspect of care is interconnected and vital because multifaceted efforts can make a world of difference. Assisting with the financial piece is just one component. Our alliance partnership model allows for patients to seek and receive the holistic support they may be in need of - from case management services to peer support. Have you ever been part of a support system that went beyond the conventional?

Bilingual Chronic Health Care Case Manager | Specialist in Underserved Populations | Health Tech & DEI Consultant for Hispanic/Latino Health Care
In my current role, engaging patients in forms of support beyond financial assistance poses significant challenges. Despite efforts to provide empathy, validation, setting boundaries, and leveraging networks, some patients remain fixated on financial aid. When these efforts are met with frustration from patients and lack of direct financial support from the program, I resort to documenting approaches, following managerial guidance, practicing radical acceptance, and prioritizing self-care. Comment below what approaches have worked for you when facing patients who are only wanting financial assistance you are not able to provide directly? #PatientSupport #HealthcareChallenges #CaseManagement #HealthCare

Partner @ Acuity Law | Solicitor advising on Health and Social Care Regulation and operational matters
The Care Quality Commission's annual "State of Care" assessment confirms what we all know - local authorities' "management" of funding priorities has created an inherently unfair system and yet another postcode lottery. National Care Forum's CEO Vic Rayner OBE has captured the picture perfectly: "The reality is that providers are not able to provide care at the rates that local authorities can pay, nor can they provide quality services at these unsustainable rates. They cannot staff services where they do not have enough funding to pay staff, nor can they innovate and invest in buildings and technology to ensure that we have care services we are proud of and are fit for the future, as well as for the present". At Acuity Law we are seeing a rapid increase in providers robustly challenging their commissioning authorities who are simply not paying enough to cover the basic costs of high quality care. https://lnkd.in/eYdeUXY7

End-of-Life Essentials' powerful new video shares a patient's experience in the healthcare system, and the importance of being treated as a person and an individual.
The End-of-Life Essentials project has launched a new animated video, ‘A Patient’s Perspective’, based on the experiences of a very generous woman, who, when faced with her own life-limiting illness, wanted to share her experience to highlight the importance of genuine connections with the healthcare staff. Healthcare professionals face unique challenges when providing care to individuals dealing with progressive serious illness, and may find themselves in unfamiliar territory when the patient cannot be cured. The video provides another End-of-Life Essentials educational opportunity to build your skills and confidence in patient care, and prompts us to see and respond to patients as people with lives beyond their illness.
