We need less film "criticism" and more film advocacy. Not saying films shouldn't be critiqued; there are, however, too many prominent voices who complain about how "modern movies suck" and point to the MCU, etc. But why not use that voice, use that platform, to champion indie filmmakers and film studios; the need for more cinemas to screen those movies: or (in my case) champion those in the genre/ conservative/ faith-based markets? Negativity begats negativity. It's easy to putdown. Time to lift up. #missionstatement #lovemovies
