SPOILER ALERT: Half of all Advertising is worse than watching cows eating grass Peter Field and Adam Morgan got together last year to work out how much money is wasted on Advertising that has no impact Turns out it was quite a lot! In fact Peter used the IPA database to work out the money you would have to spend on dull advertising (that illicits no emotional response) to non-dull (emotional) advertising and the answer might shock you ... £9.8million per campaign To dramatise this we wondered how well an advert which simply shows cows eating grass would do on the System1 database and to our surprise it beat more than half of all ads ever tested Do the old "half my advertising is wasted" quote has just undergone a little upgrade We are discussing what all this means live right now in the "extraordinary cost of dull" webinar with eatbigfish and I would love to know what questions you have for Adam, Peter or myself?
